My new drag radials proved themselves in just one trip to the track. Anyway, here's my new times - mods in sig:

R/T: .077
60': 1.849
330: 5.440
1/8: 8.417
MPH: 82.17
1000: 10.984
1/4: 13.151
MPH: 103.95

I think I may be able to squeeze a little more out of her by pulling the rear and passenger seats, removing the front swaybar, and possibly adding subframes. If that doesn't do it, I may have to get an upper plenum and throttle body. Anyway, do you guys think that it's possible to pull a 12-second slip with close to my current configuration? That is my ultimate goal before I allow myself the go-ahead with a blower. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, I have the 275/50-15 BFG DR's and 205/60-15's (sitting in the garage anyway) mounted on stock '99 V6 wheels. I ran the DR's @ 18 psi, did a 3-4 second burnout, and left the line at about 3750rpm. It launched hard with no spin or bog. If anyone has any suggestions or comments, please bring 'em on. Thanks.

It's not my daily driver, so if it breaks, the car can sit until I have the money and time to fix it. The gears have about 3k on them, and all of the bearings in the rear end got replaced about 100 miles ago. I know it's not good for it, but I really want a 12.99. I'm gonna have to redo the rear end again anyway when I bolt on a blower and slicks. 3.73's, an Auburn Pro, 31 spline axles, and an aluminum driveshaft. But I appreciate the compliment and warning.
 
I have a couple of questions (newb to the mod stangs) You pulled a 13.1 with those few engine mods? and still havent done the the upper plenum OR the throttle body? man whats your secret??? Or is this normal for 99+ stangs? Correct me if im wrong but 99+ GT's allready have "pi" heads and intake right? Im going to be buying a 2000 GT within in the next couple of weeks. And its bone stock exept for a BBk cold air, eibach springs, steeda Cast and Camber plates and shocks, and a spec stage 2 clutch. So your saying with U/D pullies, exhaust ( i want to get the mac prochamber with flows) 4:10 gears and shifter along with the right sort of suspension and some nittos i should be running low 13's? MAN i love these GT's allready lol coming from a 15 second stang this thing should be sick to me haha.also what is T/A in your sig mean?

as long as you can drive you can get some pretty decent times out of them ;) and T/A = timing adjuster :nice:
 
I ran my car mostly stock and pulled a 13.98. The only mods it had were Eibach springs (only hurt you for drag racing), a removed air silencer (not really a power mod, more for sound), and welded-in Flowmasters (these don't amount for crap since the stock 2 1/4" pipe is retained, maybe 2-3hp at best). From what I've seen, most GT's run in the low-mid 14-second zone stock. I have only seen a few here and there that get into the 13's. I also believe that some cars just run a little harder from the factory than others. I think I got one of those. I don't really have much of a secret. I guess my mods just work well together and I'm starting to learn to drive my car. I now have 33 passes on it, and every pass I try to learn from my mistakes on the previous run. It feels pretty good to know that I can at least keep up with stock LS1 cars on the track now :nice: .

All 99+GT (5spd, coupe) can run 13s no if or buts, conditions permiting.

LS1s stock will always kick our asses stock for stock, unless there is something wrong with it. LS1s have in general 300WHP. We have ~230WHP.

hmmmm.....
i have the same mods as this guy minus the suspension stuff and i was on 17'' nitto drag radials and i ran roughly the same time. the key is learning how to drive the car.

Every stock 99+ GT will run 13's.....with a good driver and track conditions. I wasn't debating this. I probably could have gotten a little deeper into the 13's w/mine, but on my fifth pass with the car on my fist time to the track with it, I ran a 13.98, then got kicked off the track for not having a helmet. You can definitely run the hell out of these cars if you ran 13.6x stock. :worship:

Nice times, man! The only thing is, yes, I have UCA's & LCA's, but all of my other aftermarket suspension components are actually hurting my times. Stiff springs and shocks are for handling, not helping weight transfer in a drag race. I'd be willing to bet money that going back to stock suspension would help me. I just like the way it corners too much to do that. :D

i wasnt trying to say i am better or anything, i was just trying to show the other guy that its easy to get these cars into the low 13s, high 12s if you know how to drive it and have a decent tire.

Agreed. Sorry if I sounded like I was trying to flame, because that wasn't the case. With a few of the correct bolt-ons, traction, AND a good driver, 12's are definitely attainable. Hopefully I'll be there soon. If I drop the tire pressure from 16 down to 12-13psi, I may just gain that last tenth in my 60' that I need to run a 12.9x. I think having my DR's on a 7" wide rim isn't helping, either. I'd probably get a better contact patch if I mounted them on 15x8's. Oh well, we'll see.
