ok, searching the forums didn't help me at all. So...here it goes. My coupe is a 4 cylinder conversion. Everything was taken from a stock 1987 GT. Car started no problem when turning the key. Everything was then put into the coupe exactly how it was but the car only starts when jumping the solonoid. Is it the neutral safety? Where in the AOD is the neutral safety? Could it have gone bad while sitting? Anyone that can help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Not sure where IN the tranny it is, but if you crawl under the car, you will find the harness with 2 pairs of wires. One is for the reverse lights, and the other is the parking safety switch(my name for it lol). By a process of elimination, you can figure out which ones are which, and you can jumper the parking switch to see if the problem in the switch in the tranny.

That's how you do it. Find it on the driver's side. This might be a stupid question, but are you sure you have the shift linkage correct?

Car drives and is able to switch gears, but i'm in the process of taking all the auto stuff out of it and putting it into another car and want to make sure that it isn't broken or anything. Is it possible to bypass this tmoss, and be able to start it without jumping the solonoid?

Yes, there is a connector up under the dash, normally on the outside of the steering column where the two red/light blue wires plug into the harness that goes to the clutch switch, the autos came with a shorting plug in them. Find that and short the two wires, but I highly suggest you keep the safies in tact long term!
