Where to get gauges installed

Hello everyone, recently I bought a white face gauge kit from ebay for my stang. I've looked around and I decided I dont even want to attempt to put them in myself(from looking at the mustang-world how to) the needle removal looks like a pain. I've been to a few places around here and they say they dont know how, or dont want to mess with the because of needle removal. I'm sure a Ford dealership would do it, but how much is it going to cost me, has anyone had a dealership install them, if so how much? and would auto parts stores do it? (ie, autozone, checker, napa..)

As long as it came with the power inverter (little black box with a switch and a knob) you've got all the parts you need. I was able to get mine on with out removing the needles. If you bend the white face gadge just right and line up the needles with the holes you should be able to slide it on under the needles and get it to go on with out too much troubble. Just be careful not to brake any of the needles off. It's just a matter of positioning the needles in the right direction and slideing the white faced gadge on at the right angle. If your feeling patient you can try it. I'm not sure what a shop would charge to install something like that. Most places charge around 60-80 an hour for labor.

are they indiglo or just regular white face gauges? if indiglo just unbolt the two bolts under the dash cover and pop it out remove the 4 black bolts that match the two you already took out around the gauge pod, slide it out unplug it after taking teh batterly cable loose (netagive side) then take it in side or where ever remove teh little gold bolts and pull the cover off, slide the new gauge face over the existing, i belive indiglo can be done this way, you dont hae to remove the needles, i put on a friends and it slide over, to check just sit it over the needles and seeif the hole are big enough. get a friend to help you manuver the needles so you can get it on. then put it all back together and put in, run the wires down and whre ever you need to, for power get a little power tester and find the wire that comes on when the head lights are on, or the parking lights make sure its hot for both, splice into that wire, and ground it anywhere thats really it.

if you let a shop do it or an audio install place where ever it should not be very much money.

Alright guys, thanks for the help, maybe I'll try doing it myself and if it comes down to it, i'll find some place that installs them. BTW they are reverse glow gauges...

Mine were also the reverse glow gadges. I think you can do it on your own with some patience. Take your time and don't stress bending the needles too far and it will go on.

yea the hardest part is A) sliding the gauges over the needles after getting the stock gauges out and unpluged B) finding a power scource to tap into, rear defroster has a power wire that gets hot only when the dash lights are on, use a tester to find it, (didnt work on a friends dont know why....) and you can also unbolt the switch where the head light knob goes and find the wiere there with the tester that only gets hot when the lights are on, either one should work use one of those self tapers to stick on and its a snap, for ground just run it to a bolt or splice it in with an existing ground which ever. tape up the module that the gauges come with cuz i touched it and got shocked.... dont leave it dangling tape it up on the back so that only the knob is visible and you are good to go, to get the defroster button out, pop off the shifter bezel and reach up under the bottom and push it out from the back it is just held in by a metal clip, if its on pre 01 its VERY easy to get to cuz its on the dash by the guages just unbolt it or pop it out. you will need a tester, little screw driver like thing with a wire on the end and a bulb in it, stick the wire on a ground and if you stick it on a live wire (not the rubber surround but the ACTUAL metal inside the wire) it will light up and you knwo its hot, find one that only gets hot when the gauges are turned on (head lights are on) )
