cylinder head questions

alright guys any help would be appreciated. I just got the heads off my car (90 5.0) and im gonna take them and get them freshened up (there stock). Im gonna by a comp cams kit and i want some roller rockers also. My first question is should i get my heads flat milled or angle milled? which works better. I have a stock bottom end also. also can i put roller rockers on there or do i have to get some kind of kit? what have some of you guys done. What kind of rockers do i need to install. all in all i willing to spend about a grand on the heads, cam, lifters, springs, rockers. :nice: thanks guys

Are you going to get the heads ported? If not i wouldn't bother with it.
You could always get a set of iron darts or protoplines bare, then set them up to your specs. i've heard angle milling causes sometimes bad sealing with the lower intake. btw, Crane high intensitys are good rockers to get.

im not gonna get portwork done cuz i dont have the money for it or bigger injectors right now. yes it could cause bad sealing cuz you prolly couldnt find the right gasket to match the milling. I was just wondering if anybody had theirs milled and if it helped any. thanks for the rockers input. anybody else have some rockers they think work well???

I would take that $1000 and just get different heads altogether. Thumpers, GT-40P(Req' new headers), GT-40(Iron), Roush 180s are good budget head options. May try to snag a set off of e-Bay even.

If you're not going to get them E7TE's ported then just leave them alone altogether, lol. Those Thumper heads I mentioned above there are the stock heads but they're reworked. Run a search for Thumper Heads in the forums and I'm sure you'll find out everything you even needed to know about them, it's a pretty common thread.

You could get a Ford Racing cam off of e-Bay I'm sure, also the Trick Flow cam I have isn't very expensive ($140ish).

Rockers are going to cost a little, there is a place called BHPerformance that deals in Scorpion Rockers for a good price, I think I was quoted $189 or $199 but he has to order them so talk to him far in advance of when you need them.

Actually angle milling is better than flat milling, it puts the ports in a better position for better flow and also changes the angle on the valves, but if you have the heads angle milled then the intake will have to be milled also for better sealing,
