NO DONT DO IT , NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO , KB at 6lbs not intercooled will kick its ass , I have driven a roush same blower set up and its slow compared to my car , get a base mongoose from T&Js or KB from T&Js , you will be much happier . especially when a saleen pulls up beside you and you walk his a*s

nice ride 2002.So the moongoose kit for 4000.is a good kit.I have the same car and color.can you beat a new vette or ss camaro with this set up?This is a lot of money for me and i just want to make the right choice. How was the install?looks a little harder than the kb.

save your money, get a kb or a mongoose kit. the kb or the mongoose novi kit, both have way more potential(power) in the long run. Call up tim at t&j and discuss your goals with your car, he's a walking encyclopedia when it comes to supercharging mustangs.....

The www.kennebell.net website lists the 6-14 PSI (the intercooled kit) for the 02 GT at $4899. OK, it's still $900 more than the price you quoted for the Saleen, but the difference is shrinking.
Isn't the Saleen a roots style as opposed to the twin screw KB? The Saleen site didn't offer much info at all...
Is the Saleen kit as complete as the KB?

I'd prefer the KB for Aesthetics and power, besides if you run in to parts/warrantee/instruction problems Saleen's customer Service is among the worst I've ever seen.

I cancelled by order with them for their rudeness and lack of knowledge… I also heard their SC Systems aren't all that great as far as efficiency, reliability and performance...

The SCer is good, it's made by whipple. The whipple twin screw is a 1.6l and the KB is a 1.7l so not much difference. What sucks is the intake Saleen uses, it's way too restrictive, thats why people are getting low numbers. Mine only 309rwhp with a smaller pulley (auto). I had bought the Saleen just before the KB came out, I was disappointed big time. I ended up taking it off and selling the car to get the Cobra. I would hold out and get the KB.

thanks , install is easy , just dont get in a hurry , i have about 12 hours total in mine , couple hints off the get go , spend a little extra and get a cobra fuel pump and tank , 42 lbs injectors and 90mm lightning mass air , that way you are prepared already for the intercooler , which most people end up doing later like im saving for now . if you are on a tight budget though even the base mongoose with the 30 lbs injectors and steeda pumps are solid performers and tims tuning is top notch and SAFE key word , just follow his advice and you will be happy with the vortech , in my opinion either blower would not be harder than the other to install yourself . I would like to see someone go with a KB with a snow performance boost cooler , total would be about 4100 or so and I think if they run a larger pulley than 6lbs (maybe 8 lbs) , 390 rwhp would be possible with that combo and about 1000 cheaper than intercooled version

I installed a Saleen Series IV and think it is a good kit for a street machine. Yea it is not a KB but it was all I wanted to spend. Remember it is just one of many mods I plan for the car. The intake is not the best, but they have to keep Ford happy, I guess. I had to wait 2 months for the kit and it was missing some parts but they shipped them next day. The only problem I had was the installation manual, or lack of ! The manual is crap, but I worked my way through it and think my installation was better anyway. The parts list leaves a lot to be desired also. I picked the Saleen because of the Whipple SC and want something reliable to drive eveyday. Saleen has a nice intercooler, so if you go KB look at the possibility of a Saleen intercooler.
