Mass.
I own a GT2003 vert and I'm looking to trade it in for a 2004 mach 1. What are the differences between them. I know that the mach has the 32v 320hp engine, but is there any other difference. Like in the drive train, rear end, tranny, suspension, brakes. Any other good Mach 1 site to go to for the complete list of differences?

Thanks

try here, www.mach1registry.com for mach stuff. i test drove one and put a down payment on one before i turned around and got my cobra. machs are great, go test drive one. they handle beutifully and the brakes are stonger. plus, you know it, that shaker scoop is hottt! im looking right now for a way to put one on my cobra. i would say go for it man! they blow away Gt's and they are much cheaper then cobras, go for it! what color are you looking at getting?

I came back to Ford in 02 after a bad experiance with my 1987 GT. After getting the 02 I found it was a little faster than my 87 but 15 years latter it just didn't have that much more power.

The Mach's a whole different story though, it's as fast of a car as most cars I've driven in the 60's, I love it so much I bought 2. Now mind you if your one to want the max power the Corba my be for you but if you want a very fast steet car that has a very good chance of putting down a new Cobra at a stop light go for the Mach it's quite a every day type car :spot:

Best 25k I've ever spent and a hoot to drive

yo ttown, 2 machs huh? nice, im thinking about trading my 96 and selling my 78 for one, i really liked the one i almost had, and its kinda weird that the dealer still hasnt sold that one, i think its destiny.

Yes 2, while some are hoping the 05's are going to be as fast as the MACh I'm enjoying mine now and waiting for the limited editions in 07 or 08. One thing I've learned from buying my 02 GT is it takes a long time for aftermarket parts and the Mach's got them the 05 won't for years if it's anything like the 2 valves or even the 4 valves . You might get a CAI or some exhaust but it's going to be a long time coming in chipping the VVT cars and for aftermarker to figue it out IMO. This is one sweet car!

Line up the test drives!

After odometer creep on my Saleen was becoming obvious, told wife to get her own stang. She was looking at the 40th anniversary GT, Mach and Cobra. Besides the obvious horsepower, torque, etc, there is a huge difference in the feel of these cars. You need to drive and think about how you are going to use the car! If I were looking for a car to do a rear seat delete and start racing, it would be the Cobra. The Cobra is a fine daily driver, but Van Halen got it right: I can't drive 55 in this thing. The Mach, IMO, is a fantastic package of handling and horsepower that is hard to beat at the price, and it is a great daily driver. Ford did their homework in most places, and added significant stability and handling equipment on the Mach. It handles well and runs well. Wife opted for the Mach, and we noticed a few improvements that are necessary over stock oem stuff: replace stock exhaust with Borla stinger cat-backs to open up and add a deeper tone, and beef up the tires. The tires, even though retro look with old style wheels are cool, look sorta wimpy because the fender flares can handle the 265 or 275 tires as opposed to the oem 245s. The Cobra comes with 275's and they fit the wheel well just right with deep wheels. My saleen has 265's on back (18X9 wheels) and 255's on front. They are trim but the rear looks like the 275 would be just right. Too much info. You need to drive.

I myself had a '03 GT Silver 6800 miles on it...I traded it in for an '04 Screaming yellow Mach
Best thing i ever did!!!
Go test drive 1....
The clutch is tighter...Better shifting, no more sloppy ass shifts
The car bone stock is a BEAST compared to the GT
It makes the GTfeel like a V6
The car's power is SERIOUSLY underated
I have mine 3 weeks now....EVERY time i see a GT they practically follow me just to stare at my car....I live in the NY suburb area and i still have seen only 1 other Mach (Azure)....
They are rare and MAGNIFICENT

Go for it....you will love it!

I'm glad this thread is here. We bought an 03 GT vert, test drove a Cobra, and are now thinking of the Mach 1. I loved the Cobra, but I couldn't imagine not wanting to push that car to the limit! I'm afraid I would hurt someone! Thanks for all the info on the Machs!!

My brother has an 03 Cobra and I have an 04 Mach. I had an 02 GT and after test driving a Mach I had to have one. I drove my brothers 03 and they are just SICK cars. The power those things make is unreal. I wanted something in the middle and the Mach did it for me, plus you can't have the same car as your brother.....:) I love everything about the car and wouldn't trade it in for anything. If your not happy with the power from the GT and don't want the crazy power of the Cobra, the Mach is right for you!!

13" cobra brakes
specific springs and shocks/struts
subframe connectors
special interior and seats
32v Aluminum DOHC v-8
small build numbers
exterior styling
shaker scoop

need i go on?
only thing i dont like are the wheels, so i got a set of Torque Thrust II's

Mach1's are baddddd

 This has got to be the baddest car around. You will be the envy of all other non-Machers and almost all gazers will drop their tongues from their wide open mouths.. i have had my Mach1 for one month and not a day goes by that i don't get a thumb up from another stanger or from the opposite sex.. You will get an occassional sap wanting to see just how bad the car is and if really is ram or not..trust me, that will be the last time they do that.. I also went to http://www.mach1registry.org and got all the info i needed before i purchased my bad ass toy....

thats a good price i think. i have a friend with one, i love it. i think you should get that. plus im pretty sure he paid much more then 27,500 for his, but its still worth it. i myself just couldnt swing the price, wish i sold my wifes car or something, but life is life i guess
