Need feedback from Procharger owners w/2vGT

micool - I'm seriously debating the Procharger (and also the Vortech) and will be purchasing the kit this month. I've heard some mixed reviews on Prochargers and want to make sure the awesome pricing structure is worth the headaches, if any.

What other mods were on the car at the time of the ATI unit, and the 377hp numbers?
What blower pulley did you need to get the 10psi?

Did you see any overheating issues while sitting in traffic because of the air to air?

Well, my experience with procharger wasn't very good but that's not to say they're a bad company. When the car made 377 rwhp I had a bullitt intake, P1SC, magnaflow x pipe, and magnaflow cat back. I had a 3.0" pulley on there that shouldv'e made 12 psi but the blower blew a seal so it never made that, instead making at the most 8 psi but usually 5-6. After ati warrantied it I sold it and put a non intercooled s trim on the car and at 9.5 psi made 437 rwhp so it was a better blower for me. I didn't have any overheating issues with the procharger or the vortech.

Imo and it may not count for much since i dont have a s/c, but i have heard nothing but bad stuff about procharger  The shop I go to, one day last week when I was up there, a Procharged stang came in. It was a '96 auto and the guy was like it wont even get out of its own way. On the dyno, once he was able to make a full pass and it didnt cut off on him, he made a hair over 200rwhp :nonono: . a/f was everywhere but where it needed to be. A few hours tuning and he was close to 310rwhp and it ran 200% better than when he brought it in. Bad news is that was the 2nd time he has brought it in for the same problem.
#1 problem the shop told me with these kits is that they have to be tuned. People just bolt them on and can basically loose power. He said he has inherited way to many Procharger cars since he is a major tuning facility, and they have nothing but problems. Basically he does everything in his power to convince you to get a Vortech or a Paxton.
2nd, and no offense but its an auto. Unless you throw on a stall converter you are going to have MAJOR lag on your boost when it shifts. 1st will pull hard, then when it does that quick shift through 2nd to drive there will be a bad lag, then once it starts taching up good in D then boost will start to pick up again.
We had a major talk on this since I want to s/c my old 5.0 and its an auto. I wanted to try and keep it an auto but its not feasible since I want to take it on the highway and it be over a 500hp car. If I went with a C4 I would loose OD, so the only other real choise I have is to swap to a 5 speed.
Thats my opinion on it. I know Procharger looks good, but from all Ive seen and heard I would never go with them, Intercooler or not.

not a GT, but a 2V non-PI here, running P-1SC with 3 core intercooler. the previous quote about having to get it tuned is ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. until i upgraded to 42# injectors, a 90mm MAF, and a good tune, my junk ran like crap. it would cut off in the upper rpms (probably because of a lean out condition) and really wasnt much faster than n/a. however, when i got it tuned, took it to the track and took 2 seconds off my ET and added about 13 MPH.

i bought the procharger because it was intercooled. i was torn between a KB and ATI. what stanglou said about the stall converter with the auto is true also. i have MAJOR boost lag in 3rd gear and i feel like it is costing me a couple tenths ET and some MPH. it just wont go anywhere in 3rd and before it ever builds any boost all all, i am through the traps. but a 2800 and 3.73's are in the works......unless i buy a stang.

My car made 410 rwhp on a mustang dyno running with stock cats and 2 chamber flows. The only thing done to the car motor wise besides the supercharger is an acufab throttle body and upper inlet tube and a custom chip. Its a 8 lb pulley by the way as well as a 5 speed. The only heads up i would give ya is that the 255 lph pump may not be enough; i had to get a steeda dual pump set up because my car started to lean out above 4000 rpm's. Once I put it in the car run's great. My next step is offroad x and borla stinger catback. Good luck!!

I have had my Procharger for over three years and have not had any problems. I love my it! I have ran an 11.73 at 119 mph with just the Procharger, gears, exhaust, and drag radials. That's not too bad in my opinion!

Wow! How many psi? My best is 116mph w/ a tad over 10psig.

Can't help you with the auto part but my car with a P1SC at 8 psi made 377 rwhp/399 rwtq before it blew a seal with just the supporting fuel system, a catylitic magnaflow x pipe, and magnaflow cat back.

Nice sig... you Homo!
