Ok, 2 wensdays ago I was trapped at the city mall when a big ass storm came through, finally at 11:00ish it finally died down some to where the mall said we could go, but they wanted us to stay for safteys sake. But, I had 3 other Airman with me and we had to get back on base asap, and they begged me to take them home right away. So I did, big mistake.

Well fast forward to this weekend. The car runs, but not all the time. When driving home from Sheppard, it died on me 20 mins out of witchita falls. So I call my grandfather to come pick it up on a trailer (a 2 hour drive just to the damn car). About 45 mins of waiting, I decided to try to start it ( i had tried to start it right after I had pulled over, but no luck). Well, the motor started after it sat for the 45 mins, and I procedded to drive as far as I could. I got all the way down 287, and all the way down I-35 to my exit. and when I stopped at the stop light, it died, again. So I pushed it into the parking lot of the gas station that was at the intersection and called for help.

We got it towed home (3 miles away) and I let it sit for a while. later on that evening I try to start it up, what do ou know, it starts up.

Whats the deal? could it be bad gas? I added this stuff that the oreilly guy reccommended (sea foam?) and it said it would take out all the water in the tank. It has a brand new coil and ignition module, and spark plugs and wires, and distributer. Im getting all 3 elements, air fuel and spark.

Whats wrong with this car?! If it continues to be this way Im gonna sell it and get a damn EFI 5.0

Sounds like heat soak. This is going to sound stupid but it is an old trick that will work if this is the problem. Take some wooden clothes pins and pit them on your fuel line in as amny places as you can. They act as a heat soak and will pull the heat off your gas lines so it will not vapor lock. If it is vapor lock, it will do it when the car gets operating temp and then the car will start right up whan it cools a little, Sound familiar? I'm not sure if the carbed engines have TFI modules but if they do and the clothes pins do not work, that would be my next move, it will also do the same thing. Let us know what happens.
