Got the baseline dyno done today

Nice #'s...With the mods in my sig minus the t-body I put out like 3 less horsepower and a bit less torque in my Cobra (Not sure if my #'s were corrected). Not sure why mine was so low (did replace the clutch after that) or even if my #'s were off @ all, but your #'s look really good.

Those are really high numbers for an essentially stock car.
That's what I was gonna say.

With gears (dont count in HP), headers, xpipe, catback, pulleys, k&N, and PI Stallion TC, I made only 203/249...I know it's an AODE, but again, that was with TC, and only 70k on a well-kept motor.

Nice.

Maybe they accidently shaved the heads a bit too much at the factory and stuck in some 12.5:1 pistons since they were running out of the stockers... It would explain why I have to run 93 octane and can only run 6* of timing.

Man, you guys are making me really happy with my car. :)

you're saying you just ran the water pump, power steering and alternator???? am i just misunderstanding the 'psp' abbreviation?

Ummm, yeah... Of course, they were all driven by the crank pulley. My smog pump is gone and the A/C is bypassed until I buy a new compressor. This is a pretty common arrangment. Am I misinterpreting the confusion/disbelief I see in your post?

Uh Oh, callin' ya out! :rlaugh:

I really don't see why anyone is surprised by his numbers. It's well documented that all cars are not equal. He has just the right modifications to make power like that. He's not the first person to put down those numbers, it just doesn't happen every day. He is at the high end of the spectrum, but still in the "believable" range. :nice:

But why would you want to? It's not like you're ever going to run that configuration on the street or track. What's the point of wasting a dyno run? Unless of course you've got A, money to burn, or B, your own dyno.

Actually I've done that and seen other do as well. Just cool the motor extremly well, do a very short burnout, and shut it down as you go through the traps. Generally worth 3-5 tenths.

Allright, I've downloaded the dyno run viewing software from dynojet, but now I need to find a current copy of winzip. It's always something... I'll try to get them posted tomorrow.

Well... damn. Out of curiousity, what were the temps at shutdown?

no disbelief, just a question. i'll do that whenever i take my car to the track, what size belt you get. i have no smog but i do have the a/c, i can bypass that with no problem. would any of you happen to have a pic of routing the belt w/o both a/c and smog. thanx

Not calling him out, just interested in the graph...
What's wrong with "calling someone out"?

IF he put up a bunch of :bs: :bs: :bs: , THEN that might be wrong, but how many times do guys tell their track times, and to believe them (if theyre good) we have to put up the timeslip.

Also, we would like to see the curve, not just the peek numbers!

I'm actually pretty proud of the curve so I'd like to share it.

UPDATE: Allright, I've got the program unzipped, but it doesn't give me the option to save as a image file and for some reason the "Print Screen" command isn't working. We're getting closer though.

jtkz13 - No track times. This is being built for RRAX. One of these days I'll take it down the 1320 but it isn't a priority.

stunner6910 - I've got a pic of the routing that I'll post this afternoon. As far as the belt size, it's an 81.0 IIRC. I'll confirm later.

Gotta go pick up plane tickets and a rental car now!

Not as bad as you may think. On the stock guage around 3/4 the way up but that comes down quickly when you put the belt back on before coming down the return road.

Also, when I say cool the motor I literally mean with bags of ICE and get it COLD not just cool. And I also mean that you should push the car from the pits all the way to the water box. We're only talking about 30 seconds of run time here total.

Well I'd be honored!

Damn, that torque curve gets me all sweaty... ;)
