Raggtopp is what is recommended, but soap and water works fine. I usually just use soapy water and a scrub brush, then finish with a protectant that has UV protection.

Guess I'll find out how is works since my car has been sitting outside for 6 weeks waiting for a forged shortblock to get here and go in....

The cleaner I've benn using is called 303 Fabric/Vynal Convettible Top Cleaner. It's the first product that I've used and I'm very happy with it. I bought it at Murray's Auto Parts store. It comes in a 32oz spray bottle. I think it was either 5.99 or 6.99. I've also used Lemon scent Simple Green on some tougher spots like bug guts and bird droppings. It's yellow, not green like the regular Simple Green so it didn't leave any discoloration on the white top. I've also heard that Eagle 1 and Meguires makes some good stuff for drop tops too. Not suprizing, I use some of their other products and I'm very satisfied with them. Hope this helps.

is taking care of a vert top a pain in the ass? i am looking at a 96 that just had a new top put on last month and if i get the car i want to keep it nice. are these cleaners the only thing that needs to be done to keep them nice?

If you are willing to clean the top with a cleaner at least every other week, then go for it. :nice:

I love the look of a Mustang with a white top and white leather, but you HAVE TO stay on top of the cleaning unless you want your top to look like $hizat. A guy I work with has a '94 Gt with a white top and white leather that looks terrible because he didn't take care of it. My freinds told me I was crazy for getting a Triple White 'Stang, Especially with a 3 1/2 year old son. I clean the interior once a week and no drinking(other than water) or eating allowed is allowed. So far so good. :nice:

triple white is

Actually, I wanted Torch Red, with a white top and white leather/or black leathe seats. But, you can't always get what you want. :damnit: :nonono:

That is my favorite color combo of Mustangs, Triple White is my 2nd favorite.

I added a white CDC lightbar 3 weeks ago and got my personalized plates that read TRPLWHT.

I'll be posting some pictures here soon. I start my 2 week Shut-down vacation next friday. I'm going to have my buddy sinisterblack98 help me set up a web page and show me how to post pictures on here then too. I also plan on going to Milan Dragway on the 6th or 7th of July for some Stock 1/4 mile runs, then I'll start to add on the mods listed below in my sig. :nice:

I use a scrub brush and a convertible top cleaner (can't remember the name), then I put 303 protectant on it. Keeps it looking like new. I like the 303 protectant because it makes water bead like it's been waxed like the rest of the car. For those who can't find it, the only place I could find it was at a marine sales store. They said it was made originally for boat tops  . Makes a black top look good that's all I know.
