I have a 2001 Mustang GT, what type of vortech chargers are you guy's running? The V1-S or the V2-SQ ? Can I run either kit with my car and what are the differences between these two set-ups? Thanks for any input...

Actually as far as quality Vortech's used to be better due to ATI's seal problem. Dunno if they have improved all that greatly though. Aside from that the ATI is a good model as well as the Vortech's and Paxton's.

If your dead set on the Vortech I am with Ryan the T-trim is only a few hundred more for a more capable blower. The T-trim is the same model as a S-trim but with a upgraded impeller which means more cfm when you need it. Otherwise the S-Trim and SQ-Trim is one is quieter other is noisey.

I prefer noisey :nice:

I agree with that. Procharger is a better blower than a Vortech...the procharger is also self lubricated unlike the Vortech.
Not necessarily. There are guys running Vortech's making the same power if not more as intercooled Prochargers. Also, ATI had some problems a while back with leaking seals so head units were having to be sent back and forth to be fixed. I haven't heard of anyone having any trouble with the Vortech units that I can remember. If it came down to it, I'd go with an I/C'd Paxton on my next ride........:)

i actually make more boost with my intercooler; usually pick up about 2#'s. @ the dyno i was making a solid 10# on an 8# pulley. Plus, prochargers run cooler due to the intercooler, and as we all know dense air = power. I've had my procharger for about 2 years and have no problems. change the oil on it when your supposed to and it will take care of you.

i've had both. they both make the same power. if you want everyone within 400ft to hear your blower, get the V1. if you want one that you will hardly notice at all, get the V2. i had the V1 and switched the the V2 because the whistle was driving me nuts. other than the sound, they are the same.

btw, Vortech quality is much better than Porcharger. and that's not just my opinion.

P/D1SC though is good for up to what? 31 psi. Better not was really the word I should have used. The procharger is more powerful. I am 100% vortech guy...I will definitely be buying a vortech within a year or so.

I could not be happier with my V2SQ, It has about 6000 miles on it with no problems. Two days after i installed it i drove it from Houston to Las Vegas. Round trip was 3700mi. I got 24mpg and it just ran great. The only problem i have had was the texas heat my car felt like it had no power when it was hot outside. But now it the thing that brought it back was the Snow Performance Boost Cooler, that is the best money i have ever spent.

I have the V2-SQ. If I were to do it again I'd get a Paxton Novi right off the bat. They push more air and changing the belts on them doesnt require removal of the head unit like a vortech does. Vortechs can run Paxton intercoolers with out much change so there goes the excuse that they dont have intercoolers. All in all, 12,000 Miles on mine so far with out a hiccup. Motor, tranny, rear, and blower are all happy as can be.

First off, to the people who think the P1-SC is more powerful then the V2, your nuts. Sure at 8-10# it puts up some impressive numbers, but the thing just runs out of gas when it comes to bigger numbers. I have yet to see anyone get the kind of numbers ATI publishes.

The V2 can push to 600+rwhp, I have yet to see a P1 on a 2V get anywhere near that. If memory serves me right CobraKiller was getting 650rwhp out of his little V2.

This is why you see so many people step up to the D1, after seeing the lack of potential the P1SC has.

To all the people telling him to get a T-trim, WHY? If you can get 600rwhp out of a V2, no reason to go any bigger, unless you plan to go all out, and in that case, you should skip over the T-trim altogether.

well i will be finding out soon just what kind of numbers the P-1SC an put out on a good build. i'll keep you guys posted, wether it be good or bad. i agree that the D1SC is a better blower.. flows 200 cfm more than the P-1SC but we'll see what happens. hopefully i'll have some numbers by the weekend.
