I don't mean to sound like a jack-a$$ or anything, but that's one of the many many reasons you should thoroughly inspect all parts BEFORE installing them.

I know I've been burned that way a few times, and you bet your butt that I look at em all now :)

Yea I used the Mac O/R H pipe and it bolted on nice. No leaks no problems. I guess you really need to inspect the product before you install it. I know I looked at the pipe for some time just to make sure everything was the same and then once I was confident that it would fit, I installed it. Cant say that I have any complaints from Mac.

Sorry to hear about the problem. I've just always been put off by the fact that so many people have problems with the chrome tail pipes rusting and having alignment problems on the pipes. If the (Cat-back) pipes would have been polished stainless steel I probably would have still bought their cat-back system. That's probably why I tend to avoid their other products. Lot of people still like Mac products, so I can't say they make a bad product - just not what I prefer. But I'm happy with my Borla Stinger and Magnaflow X-pipe.

Exept for a small alignment problem on my catback, I've never had any problems with MAC products. Currently, I use a MAC catted-H and flowpath catback. On my old, dearly departed SOHC motor I used MAC LT's, prochamber and flowpath. Never had any problems. Just lots of power and great sound.

I have always though mac cut corners. from thier cold air that makes you car run rich and gets hotter than you stock one, to the chrome tipped catback. why chrome? to the coating on thier headers. etc, etc. Then again I am usually not constained by budget as much a quality of the product.

I mean thier **** works, thier headers make good power. The fact that thier quality does not catch mistakes is the problem. Good company's have good QC. Bottom line. It is hard to debate that.

I too have used MAC in the past with NO problems what so ever. No leaks no fitmit issues (except my own self created issue when I didn't read the instructions :bang: ).

Other wise my experience has been very positive.

i had the exact same problem on the drivers side header. they sent me one the very next day & we switched them out :nice: it was all fine, that's the only problem i've ever had with mac products ever though & i've had a good bit of them on my cars, especially my last one :nice:

I won't buy MAC stuff anymore either. My catback sounds great but the fit is crap. It doesn't line up at the rear bumber at all and bangs against the rear axle going over any medium or so bump (and my car isn't even lowered yet). I'm going to have to cut into it to correct the problem until I can get a new system.

WE'LL LET ME TELL YOU THAT YOU WOULDN'T OF BEEN ABLE TO SEE INSIDE THE COLLECTOR UNLESS YOU TOOK IT APART.... I'M NOT HAPPY.. JUST TRYING TO SAY BUY A SET OF BBK, HOOKER OR SLP SPEND THE EXTRA $100.00 BECAUSE YOU LOSING OUT ON QUALITY IN THE END

I agree. I've always thought of MAC products as something that represents their prices.....cheap. It's from the fit to the finish to the endurance of the product and how well they hold up to the materials they use - I just don't put a lot of faith in some of the things they manufacture.

Here's a fact regarding economics. MAC isn't some big company like Wal-Mart leveraging enormous economies of scale in order to beat competitors prices. They sell stuff cheap by making it cheap. Some of it works. Some of it doesn't. I think their older 5.0 stuff is decent, and I know some of their newer modular stuff is steaming crap.

Your results may vary, but you are getting what you paid for.

EDIT- speling

LMAO BBK. hahahaha dont get me started on the HIGH quality of BBK's products. Between 2 different typs of stangs, EVERY part we had from BBK needed some type of modifing.

Yeah that extra cash spent was WELL worth it.
