It is known that if you cut the honeycombs out of the GT scoop-the scoop can fly off at high and not so high speeds. Why? Because it is a two piece assembly. So what if you take a V6 hood and cut the honeycomb out of that? It is one piece and wont fly off. I happen to have a V6 hood and want to try it... But will it work? Will it hurt anything?

Its not going to hurt anything. You might get some hood bulging at higher speeds, but it should work, although I don't think it would look real attractive

Both GT's and V6's use the same bolt on scoop.
As for the honeycomb scoop grille,it is a seperate piece aswell. So you don't have to cut it out, just unbolt the scoop, and you will see. :) Besides, does nothing for performance if you do decide to remove it. :(

What i did with mine was drilled out every hole in the honeycomb grille, but for the simple reason that when i wash my stang,it helps drain the water out of the scoop. Was getting sick of shammying the stang, then drive away, and water would still come out! :nonono:

Well just drill out each hole in the honey comb like 1low03gt, then cut out under the hood where the scoop is and let it ram all that air onto the engine, or build a sealed box (small and flat) underneath the scoop opening that you cut, then run a thin pipe doun to your air filter and seal it....RAM AIR.Probably be alot of work, but I think its possable.I wonder if it would work if you bought a mach 1 engine, and took of its regular scoop and sealed the top of its intake opening to your cut out hood.Probably catch ALOT of wind, and instead of that honycomb cut in a piece of very fine screen with a cut K&N filter behind it.Again probably can be done, but probably never will be.
