The B&M hammer is a nice shifter for the AOD that you don't have to hack up the console. I run the B&M Pro stick with my AOD , but have the electric OD. I think they have a plate for the B&M pro & Hurst 1/4 for it to work with the AOD. I also use the mounting kit from Holcomb motorsports that puts the Pro stick and 1/4 stick in the stock location. I didi have to notch my trim plate for the ****fer to go all the way into 1st, since I run my trans in manual mode.

In order to shift the AOD manually and have it live, you cant do the 1-3-1 shuffle. You need a valve body that will allow you to do 1-2-3 directly. I dont know if the transgo kit you have does that or not. But check into that and tally that into the price.

I notice that a lot of people put a ratchet or a quarter stick in the ashtray slot and then put a blank plate in where the factory shifter goes.

I personally moved my shifter back close to that location for feel. I completely removed my console and just have fresh carpet there with a shifter over it.

hey guys i have a problem w my stock shifter after yrs of rebuilding my own tranny's . i went out and bought a manual/automatic AOD from GER and i cant get it to go into first, will the B&M hammer shifter solve that?? thanx

This might not help, but here is how mine is. I dont have a stock dash in the car.

When I did, I made a simple aluminum switch plate and installed. I thought that it looked fine. I didnt have my digital camera then, so no pic.
