Hey I live in Chicago, too, and have an 03 mach 1 and it is also my daily driver. I had a 01 gt before the mach, and both are obviously not great in the winter, but I have a set of snow tires and those help a lot. It does suck having to drive in the salt and crap in the winter. As long as you can deal with the other drivers on the road who get all pissy because you need to go slower in that type of weather, and the fact that you may not always make it up your driveway at 2am when there is the slightest bit of snow on the ground (which has happened to me more than once!), you should be fine! lol!

I live in Erie, PA in the snow belt and last winter my 02 GT was my daily driver. I used studded snow tires and about 150 LBS to survie but it wasn't as bad as I expected. Just don't get caught with the Z's on there or you'll be a real hazard on the road.
