heres the deal....i ordered the pipe for my 00GT vortech setup from some guy in Illinois at an awesome price( pipe that goes from throttle body to blower). i just got it in a few days ago and it has a nice black finish, but the problem is it has more chips than an indian casino. i want to repaint the whole peice but im not sure on what paint to use and what the prepping process really is? is there a special paint i can get that keeps heat out and stays shiny at the same time? any help is appreciated. :flag:

Are you looking for something quick such as spray can? If not you can sand it and Get some Self Etching Primer and then paint it black. Any automotive paint store has Etch primer.

etch primer?? i will look for it. no i definatly do not want to take the cheap way out.. i am building this car for shows and need a high gloss look but i would also like to keep as much heat out as possible. what paint would you reccomend?? high-temp maybe? thats pretty dull though

Yeah etch primer is actually and acid base and etches into the metal for the best possible adhesion. As for paint go with any Urethane black. Stay away from Acrylic Enamels and Laquer they will not hold up worth a crap. The best place to go would be an Automotive paint supplier. I would recomend a Dupont supplier, but that is only because I work for a Dupont supplier :D . Where do you live?
