Borla Replacement

I have the Borla Side Exhaust on my 95 Cobra, and while I really love the sound, its just not loud enough for me. I was wondering if anyone knows of a louder muffler (from Borla or any other company) that will fit in place of the Borlas. The tough thing is that the muffler has the entrance and exit on the front of the muffler, so its tough to find another in this configuration. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

i have the same side exhaust and was thinking about doing the same thing. what i was going ot do though was get a straight through muffler and weld it off the x-pipe and then just weld pipes with the same tips that are on it now onto the mufflers. this way, you get louder sound, better performance and still have the same look. i love the way the exhaust looks and souinds but i am with you it is just not loud enough. although when i put the headers and x-pipe on, you could actually hear the car just not at an idle. good luck and let me know what you do because i am looking to do the same.

LoL Im sorry but i love seeing all these pissed off Borla buyers...and then i see these other people telling people to buy Borla, and then a week later, they are pissed off...
Luv my Borla stingers and have had then for about 6 months and get nothing but compliments on looks and sound from people on the streets to friends in clubs. I know alot guys that had flowmasters and took them off because they sounded too raspy ,kinda like a can a bolts rattleing around in a can  :D :flag:

I wont be able to do the swap for a couple months at least (i need money) so the mufflers wont be for sale for a while, but if I do replace them, I'll put them up in the classifieds here, dunno how much tho. Also, you need to realize these mufflers won't work on a rear-exit system...only side exit because of the wierd entrance/exit configuration for the side pipes. Thanks for the info though guys...doesnt spin tech make a side exit system? maybe those mufflers would bolt in and be a bit louder?

would the roush side exhaust fit. i have never seen the exhaust in person but i would assume that it runs the same as ours. in and out the front. does the borla side exhast have removable baffles. i love the sound it has but i'm with you, it just isn't loud enough. do you have a mid pipe. mine was really quiet until i put on the bassanni x-pipe. it got much louder but it still isn't loud enough for me.

Roush makes two side exit mufflers, which are made by magnaflow. The one roush calls "enhanced sound", is a magnapack muffler. That would be louder than thier regular one.

I used to have dynomax super turbos. Those were louder than the regular roush muffler.

Spin-tech has a side exit muffler, I have never heard it.

I have a BBK Off-Road H, I was considering a Bassani O/R X, but I dont know if the sound difference would be worth around $280. Also, I dont know how the X sounds with a pushrod 5.0....I was watching Rides on TLC the other night, it was the episode about the Shelby Super Snake (Eleanor car) that they are producing now. They scanned the undercarriage and it has mufflers with the exact configuration as the borla side exit system...this car is seriously loud so I'm gonna try and find out what brand those are. They have the boxy, welded look similar to Spin Techs, but I dunno, we'll see.

Found the site for the Super Snake: http://www.uniqueperformance.com/supersnakeGT500E.aspx
This is the Unique Performance website, the company that makes the Super Snake. In the standard equipment description, it lists Spin Tech mufflers, so they must be decently loud and have good performance to make it onto a car with options up to 725 hp, with a base price of $159,000. I think I might do some pricing on these mufflers, they probably will give a different sound.
