Ok, I searched the forums but didn't find anything. Am I going crazy or can you swap a TB from a mid 90's stang on to the 2.3 n/a? I thought I read that someone did that but forgot who. Is this for turbo only and if you can do it to n/a what kind of gains do you get? thanks

this is close to a easy swap, its not a remove 2 bolts and 2 nutts ...some modifications are nessary...but yes the Supercoupes are the best(easiest) to swap , 94-95 are next in line aswell. Porting and drilling are required(no drilling if you use an adapter). Also the throttle cable has to be delt with if i remember correctly.

One of the merk tech boards shows 19 hp gain, 21 lbs of torque for a dyno pull w/ stock TB, then putting in the larger TB. This is with several mods already in place that would benefit from the improved air flow. Worthwhile once you reach that point.

ProHawk has posted the site on here before that show's the dyno pulls. Might run a search.

Wow, I never would have guessed in a million years that a throttle body from a 94 or 95 5.0L would swap into our 2.3's. Not only is it a 5.0 motor, but it's also not even from a fox body. I love getting proved wrong with stuff like this.

The 94-95 65mm TB has been swaped on our cars for 8 years now. Tiny avenger created a kit so you can hit the local yards and bolt it right up. all you have to do is open up the intake a lttle. I cant comment on the HP gain but the throttle response is dramitically improved.

So nothing else is needed to be done to the car to have this successfull right just ass the TB and an adapter. I am asking this because I dont want to throw one on there and it be tossing too much gas into the car because I didnt put on the other parts needed to make it work.

65 mm TB

Basiclly it is that easy. The kit is designed to work with the 94-95 cobra tb but other tb's will work. I have a 94-95 65mm motorsports TB on my car. The kit has the pigtail adaptor for the TPS, throttle cable adaptor and the tansition hose for the IC. you can use the IAC on the TB or swap in your original. Either will work. You will have to remove the upper intake and take out the studs and port match the adaptor with a dremmel tool. Put on the adaptor plates bolt up the throttle cable adaptor and plug it all in. Your stock CPU will handle this mod without a problem. You may have to adjust the TPS a little but is no big deal. As far a fuel goes Hvaent seen any problems with this mod affecting that as long as the CPU is doing its job.

If you havent already I would consider upping the fuel pump anyway. not sure the year or type of car you have but most of the fords except for a few of the earlier ones witht the 2 pump set ups have an extremely small pump and most cant deliver enough fuel to suipport the 205 hp stock let alone modified cars.

Well the 88 is in the car, and the new Motor is on a stand so I can do either and it wont effect the other till later on.

I am going ahead with the t-5 swap right now, (gathering parts) then the TB on the stand and after that the FP in the car
