Installed rockford bd1001 bd today.....OMG think i should get another sub now!!

Well got the rockford 1001bd i ordered today and wired it up to my 12" L7. It is so much more powerful than the mtx801d i had before. 3000 watts max power at 2 ohms. 1000rms. Class d......can you say  lol But like i said it absolutely destroys my sub if i turn it up louder. At this point i'm just thinking about the idea but i may sell the kicker for something more high end. Its loud but not very accurate. Does rockford make really good subs or are these alpine r's i keep hearing about some of the best things available? Keep in mind i have 1000watts rms. I want at least the same oomph as my kicker and better SQ. Kicker is only in 1.4 cu ft too. I really like the idea of 2 subs but would probably need another amp. I also only have one output for one sub on the amp. So subs would have to be in same box. How bout DVC POWER hx2? or 15" power t1?

I had two 12" Image Dynamics IDMAX's in my expedition before some worthless scumbag cleaned my truck out for me. By far my favorite subs I've had to date. They can pound out a good beat and sound absolutely fantastic.

AUDIOBAHN... get some Flame Qs

i would agree with him ^^ or take a look at JL audio their w7's and even w6's are just amazing, you could even throw in two 12" w3's and youd be set, i personally have two 12" cerwin vega xld's slightly older subwoofer, but wow if you dont mind having your jaw ache after awhile.. you dont really hear anything about cerwins anymore though, but yeah if i were you id take a look at either audiobahn on JL audio..

audiobahn is good for looks and JL good but over priced

cerwinvega stroker series

Any of these not to commerical companies will crush anything in crutchfield or bought at besy buy a few othere good ones are the idmax, crystal cmp 2x, magnum D3 i believe, shocker audio

any of the subs i listed will take 1001bd all day and ask for more

true JL audio is expensive but you get what you pay for, i got a 500/1 that hits harder then my buddys RF 1001bd and i have it on 2 rockford fosgate HE2's in a ported big ass box man that **** sounds tight. i have to say if ya want a bad ass sub grab a JL audio 12W7 or 2 maybe. vegas blow to easy tho unless its a stroker but then it sounds sloppy as **** too. audiobhan is good too but get a extended warranty :owned: . and true you got 1000 watts RMS on that rockford but that is at how many volts, 14 and unless you got a bad ass charging system good luck really seeing more then 600, JL audio rates there amps at around 11 or 12 volts thats why every 1 says there underrated.

Geez, you're really quite knowledgable. Did you get some kind of a certificate to speak with this kind of authority on a public board from a cereal box or something? If you don't know what you're talking about, then don't post. Of course, I'm sure you verified your claims with some kind of test equipment right?

your system may sound louder then your buddies but more then just power is a factor you have a big ported box is his sealed this would make yours much louder also the acoustics of the car change alot.JL is good but any of the companies I named have subs that will run next to it if not beat the W7 and all but treo are half the price. Also your local tuner has an amp list with power ratings well i wonder if the product they are pushing are at the top of the list.Anyway this question is about subs not amps. tinkertrian take my advice go with any of the companies i listed and you will be happy out of the companies i listed some of them are world record holders and are top of the line products.

id half to agree with both of you guys, ive heard some things about a few of the companies jester listed, and i was in deed impressed, but i still havnt heard anything louder then a w7.. maybe i havnt been around long enough though, i also love my cerwins, yes ive heard they blow easy, but for the time that they are working, they sound pretty damn good to me... i own both a jl 250/1 and a 500/1 amp, and i love them both, neither have ever let me down, and always pushed plenty of power, so yeah im a fan of jl audio i do agree that they are a little over priced, probly more because of the image rather then the product.

i'm checking out the sites you listed right now jester (dialup sucks) anyway basically you guys are saying that these subs ARE better than the kicker right? if i decide to switch to some of these speakers could you hook me up with a box that'll get me the best performance? i think i want a balance of spl and sq but with spl being my MAIN concern.

the best all around subs on there are the re adire and edesigns they have a very good mix of sq and spl if you want more spl you can put it in a ported box but you have to make the box a little bigger then you would with sealed.Yeah i would say these are better then kicker kicker might have a little more spl then re adire and edesigns but very little. DD Treo and shocker are pure spl monsters they hold several world titles but they are on the impractical side for every day use. i have a midlevel shocker and it weighs in at around 60lbs and that is just the sub no box so not that these other subs are light weights they are more everyday subs and will make you more then happy im sure

oww. that hurt

I run 1 12: Rockford HX2 Dual 2 Ohm, in a 1cubic foot sealed box, running of a Rockford 800.2. I am underpowering that sub since it is a 2000w max sub.

Personally I love thsi sub, takes little air, and with good power its great. I been thinking about upgrading amps, but was waiting to get a new car and a new setup...which I am shopping for a new stang again now! 8)

IMO

Go with an HX2 you won't be disappointed.

Um, I disagree. Sound Quality is user-dependant. I have used millions of different drivers and prefer some more than others, however, it's not the same for other people. Internet companies are the way to go IMO. They are cheaper than the mainstream and the value is just incredible. Granted, everything from the JL camp is great gear, however the price is just too high for most people. The W7 has been touted as king, yet there are so many woofers out there people don't even know about. Adire is killer, no doubt. RE I would put in the same boat. Stereo Integrity is putting out awesome products, which I myself am using, and they are steadily finding their own niche in the market. eD, well, I won't comment on them other than their prices are great and I have had a good experience with their FIRST line of product only. You can judge on the rest. DD is kinda out of the loop as far as SQ goes. Most people run them for SPL, but they do sound good given the correct application. Treo is awesome, and Shocker, well, fallen by the wayside in terms of sound quality. Just my opinion though. The biggest determining factor in this instance will be budget.
