I got 4 jack stands but I've NEVER used them before and don't want to kill myself or hurt the car!

BTW: What do the bolts need to be torqued to? ANY other tips would be great too!!!!

Here's a pretty good "how-to" for a midpipe installation. It covers most of steps involved in removing & installing a new midpipe. Be sure to check out fnsweet.com (they have a nice collection of installation guides in their "garage" section btw).

Here is the link to the article:

You don't need to lift the entire car to swap the new midpipe in actually. My advice would be to block the rear wheels off, jack the front end up as high as your jack will allow, then place the jackstands under a solid area such as: K-member, subframes, or lower control arms.
Be safe of course, never crawl under there with the jack holding the weight of the car by itself - proper placement of the jackstands will ensure that you don't get squished. :)

Jack stands will probably make it easier but I installed mine with just the front wheels up on ramps (it was tight under there). Install was straight forward and I had no problems. I don't know the torque specs, I just put some anti-sieze on the threads and tightened them down good. Also, after a day or two of driving I went back over all the bolts with the wrench again. I did also run a bead of high temp sealant around the inside of the drivers side bell flange per the MRT instructions and so far have had no leaks. Good luck on the install, I also picked up a bunch of mid range power.

oops lol I ment the passenger side.

One more thing - the passenger side gasket has a small lip on one side and a bigger lip on the other side. What side faces the exhaust manifold?

Stock H out!!!!! No turning back now.

Please god, let this thing fit, and fit good.

haha you have no idea, i bought a flowtech x, and they told me it would fit my car, guess what, it wouldnt clear the tranny, apparently it was for 5 spd's only.. the damn x was right underneath the tranny, what a terrible design :notnice: .. and then the shop wouldnt take it back because i tried to install it, so i got to go to a muffler shop and have them hack up my pretty new x pipe to move the x back 6 inches

however i did get to drive my car from my parents driveway to the muffler shop on open headers.. weeee hahaha

Exhaust Leak?

I know this sounds retarded, but how do I know if I have an exhaust leak? I just installed a Mac off-road h pipe today and I've tightened everything and double-checked everything. There are no hissing sounds and I can't see any smoke or feel anything at any of the junctions, but how do I know it's not leaking at 4,000 rpms?????
