I sent him a letter about that(2 minutes ago) and have not recieved a reply yet. He has been very polite and send detailed info to me of every single part. Also no one has replied to or added to those posts on corral in almost 2 years. His ebay account has had no negative feedback from what I can see in the last year. I'm going to risk it in hopes that it comes through in the shape he promises. but I feel that I will have to have it dismantled before installation just to be sure, I hate to say that because he has had no complaints in 2 years, but he also is no longer using indymustang on ebay(now ke_racer) so..... blah blah blah anyone know where I can get a 302 with over 300RWHP delivered to my shop for $1700?

Believe me you'll be sorry. There was many many posts about how Indy Mustangs screwed people over on engines. Even down to 1/4 rocks in the actual cylenders. I would never ever recommend Indy Mustangs to anyone based on all the horrid experiances i've heard and read detailed on this forum and many others. I would highly doubt it would reach 300 rwhp for very long, if it ran initially and you'll end up with a $1,700 boat anchor.

I haven't checked anything abut Indy Mustangs but please tell me how they can make 300RWHP for $1500 when the kind of heads necessary for this goal with be over $1K themselves? It isn't going to happen.....you are throwing good money away trying to save a few $$$. In this hobby you definitely get what you pay for unless you luck into a sweet once in a lifetime deal so spend your money carefully and don't be cheap or lower your expectations.

IMO………..Don’t do it.

I sent them several emails asking about the 390FE they always have out on Ebay. I wanted to know specifics about the motor. I didn’t ask anything that anyone buying a motor wouldn’t ask. You know, what pistons it had, what year the heads were, it the block was an FE or a FT, cam specs, etc.

They were almost non-responsive. When they did return the email, all they would tell me is NOTHING. Not one answer to the questions I ask.

Who cares about this guy cheshireccat. I tried to email him with my personal experience with the company in question, instead of just posting, hoping he would see what I wrote, because this is a pretty decent sized purchase. Engines aren't cheap. He jumped all over me like I just insulted his family or something.

Did I ask you to email me? F - off c*%$sucker, etc etc.

I hope no one on this board gives you the time of day. You are an ass.

He is probably the ass in question....in disguise as he needs to be these days since he has been found out. He IMed me to complain that all of us reaming Indy Mustangs have no experience with them. I told him I have been building engines for 25 years and you can't build a 300RWHP one for $1500 and that is all I need to know to give him adequate advice. I even asked him to link me to the engine he is planning on buying so I can check it out to see what he is in for....no response.

email

I live in cali, not the person in question and you have something to say, say it in the forum, instead of sending me obnoxious repetative emails like the 30 other people yesterday about indy mustang. I got 30 emails from people who have never done business with them, but they kept sayingdon't go there because they read some post of some guy whose friend bought an engine from indy. I don't want to hear from a friend's friend's friend who thought of buying their engine, so now people know that you emailed me having nothing new to say and irritating me, my personal email, I say what I want, and for the record, around 28 other people got that same form letter. You were sending unsolicited email, in my book, that's spam.
and as for ronstang. you never asked for the link, you don't have to lie to kick it... go to indymustang.com and check it out yourself, not too hard a website to find.

I did so ask for a link when I returned your IM go read it again and why not provide the link to the engine you are interested in right here for everyone to see. Why are you so damn hostile when people are only trying to help you?

I did look at Indy Mustang's website and I found nothing that will produce anywhere near 300 RWHP for $1500. All their engine combos in that price range have iron heads and there are only a few aftermarket iron heads that could even get you to that HP level without serious work but Indy uses stock castings. I like the way they picture bare iron heads on the race 306 to make it look like the heads are aluminum....This guy is a sham artist so spend your money anyway you see fit but don't be surprised when you have nothing substansial to show for it.

Chesire, you are strong to defend Indy when you dont know them either. Promise us this, if you really send them 1500 smackers, you had better come back here and let us know what you end up with...cuz if/when you have a problem, im sure we wont hear about THAT.

I'll keep you on my prayer list ;)

Chestire, a coupel observations:

1) Only idiots don't learn from the experiances of others. That is the purpose of this board is to share experiances, and the experiances of others.

2) If 30 people bothered to send you emails, that means that they cared enough to give you feedback. It shouldn't be considered spam if you asked for help. You should ask yourself if you want to do business with a company that has such an obvious bad reputation.

3) If you don't like what we're helping you out with, you have a couple choices- a) leave the forum b) ignore the posts c) buy from Indy and post your own experiances whether good or bad.

It sounds like you're a young guy with not a lot of cash. But we're trying to help you with our combined experiance so that you don't go out and mecessarily waste your money. If $1500 is all you have, then go out buy a running 89+ 5.0 or a 351W, replace the cam, rockers, intake, then get a port/polishing kit and port/polish the heads. If you have extra money, replace all the seals and bearings, then re-hone the cylinders. If you shop for the engine carefully you may even be able to buy all the wiring and computers and convert to EFI (for more fuel economy and performance). But all the above you would have to learn and do yourself to be even close to $1500. You won't have a 300+ RWHP motor, but it'll be significantly faster.

Just to give you further idea, a 300 RWHP translates to 375-400 HP at the engine. The heads to flow at that requirement usually costs $1500+ or more to get the originals to flow that much for a 302/5.0.

To get closer to the 375-400 hp for under $1500, you should be looking at slightly hopping up a 351W. But even that won't get you too near the requirement w/o more go fast goodies.

You could always get temporary HP by using Nitrous Oxide, but how long a stock motor would hold up depends on how much of a shot you had and how much you used it.

On a final note, keep in mind who you piss off. There is tons of knowledge on this board by experianced people that you may need their help with in the future. So keep a hold of your temper and stand back and take a few breaths before you speak/type.

I'm with oboeBrian on this one... I don't usually say stuff like this, but here goes:

Cheshire, I know you want Indy to be this great shop that makes great engines at cheap prices, like it's some kind of lucky kharma that you have to have found them. But remember, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is, especially on eBay. So you feel free to spend $1500 with Indy and hope for the best. If you get lucky enough to have a good experience and get what you expected, great. If not, even better. In fact, at this point I think you're obligated to buy from them after your defensiveness and the intentional "head in the sand" ostrich routine. And if you get screwed, I think you'll deserve it. :nice:

Good luck. :rlaugh:

Those mean, rotten people for trying to help you !!!! The nerve of them. Those 30 people should be banished from the Earth. I think you should buy the Indy motor regardless of what they say! Buy it, BUY IT NOW!!! The Indy site and Ebay info doesn't say they are under handed scoundrals (sp?), so there shouldn't be any thing to worry about.

those 30 people should be banished... as for the engine, not in the stars, no engine is in the stars anymore. not even a matter of conversation anymore. great to know that people that have only heard people tell stories that were not them and use those stories to help diminish a mans reputation when they have no personal experience what so ever. hmmmm help destroy a mans business through slander based on heresay, if it weren't the internet, I'd say that is a bad idea....
