Alright, I bought a Bassani X-pipe and am in the process of installing it as we speak. However, I have one slight problem. How in the hell do you get the lower passenger side nut off of the bolt connecting the exhaust mani. to the top of the H-pipe? There is about zero clearance between the nut, the starter and control arm. Is there a special medium deep socket or something? I can barely get my socket, swivel joint, extension and rachet on it as it is. As it stands I have everything undone except for that stupid nut...Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not intimately familair with that car but maybe you'll gain access by removing the starter motor? Or maybe you can try a long, long extension? How about a torch or saws-all?

I know how it is when your doing a two hour job and you encounter one nut that takes a half hour to remove :bang: Hang in there!

Swivel sockets, extensions, and patience. :D

I found it easiest to use a 1/2" ratchet with the swivel sockets and extensions so that the ratchet is clear of the car. Then it was easy.

Exactly...I just used a swivel, 3in, and 6in extensions and put them together in the right combination and got mine off on my old 2000...you did get a new stud for the drivers side didn't you...I know NAPA carries them (where I got mine)...dont' remember part number though...

Also spray some liquid wrench on there to help loosen them up...it gets a bit rusty up there...

Good Luck :nice:

I did mine the same way, but what new stud for the driver's side are you talking about???
