I've considered the PC gaming option, but a good video card is $100 and I'd need to upgrade my processor, adding another $200. The fact of the matter is that at this point, I only use my home PC as an internet/email/word processing machine since I've got a reserved free unlimited anytime access to new dual 1.25GHz G5 Macs with 22" flat panel Cinema monitors at school for all my hardcore programming, audio, graphics, and video editing work. Besides, I don't have the discipline to work at home, so I can't justify a big investment for that reason.

BTW, GT4 looks awfully good. I've seen some Xbox graphics that blow my mind, but they were on games I just wouldn't play. What is the Xbox competitor for GT4 anyway?

if you like sports and shooters Xbox is the way to go. GT4 does look promising-it might make the PS/2 worth it for that one game, but I was dissappointed in the last three. Just don't tell people in the off topic forum. You'll get attacked by a bunch of raving PS/2 fanboys out of nowhere.

If you like mustangs, then X-Box is the way to go. In TOCA Race Driver 2 you can race a series using beefed 1968 fastbacks. The in-car view is awesome. You can see the hood scoop thru the windshield and it looks very similar to the view I get out of my real 69. Sounds great as well.
Also Project Gotham Racing 2 has an American musclecar series. You can race a 1967 fastback mustang against Dodge challengers, camaro Z28s, vette stingrays, GTOs, and trans ams. Or you can just race all mustangs. The best part is that both games are online. Trust me, I've wasted way too many hours racing people from all over the world and it does not get old. Plus I dont have to risk possibly wrecking my mach. If you don't care about the classic cars, I still say X-box is the way to go. Playstation 2 cannot do 5.1 surround for games, unlike X-box. I could go on and on but you get the picture.

I would either go with the Xbox or wait a bit and get the ps3 or xbox2. Xbox has superior technology, and games are beginning to catch up. And if you've ever played 16 player halo, FUNNEST THING EVER (even though i suck).

I'd argue that superior technology. From a purely engineering standpoint, the Game Cube has the superior technology. The PS2 is in the middle. BUT, the X-Box has the best graphics quality, best game library and and is most user friendly.

I can't stand Halo personally, but that's just me. Probably because I can't stand shooters on console in general.

Oh and I have all three systems, and I use my X-Box the most.

hence why I rarely touch it! :)

Actually it has a couple of kewl games...but not nearly as many as the other two systems.

I know people who bought an x-box jsut to play halo...I can't STAND that game. It's like a short version of Tribes 2 with improved graphics and without the benefit of a keyboard and mouse which for me makes it a huge PITA.

First Person Shooter's on Consoles just don't cut it.
But Game Cube has at least one game that I was going to buy a gamecube just to get,
The Legen of Zelda special release. I have seen a few good games, and the graphics are good, but its deffinitly geared towards the younger crowd. And as for Mustangs in video Games, well, theres a whole boatload coming to the new Gran Turismo.
And as for those who like to drive there Mustangs in real life over the Video Game... Thank you for rubbing it in my face, that you can drive yours, and I gotta stick to a video game :p
