4 cyl. coupe

Out by my house I noticed there was a white 4 cylinder coupe for sale. It sat there for a couple of months and I finally went out to see what was going on with it. An old guy said it was a V8 and I just kept my mouth shut because I knew better. I kind of had ideas for it to be another turbo car but he started it up and it had dual side pipes I didn't see and it turns out that it had a carbed 302 in it. The guy is asking 700 for it and it has a new CD player and alternater and battery. Im wondering if I should offer him 500 cash.

depending on the condition I've given anywhere from $60-$350 for a running coupe.
If it looks good and runs I would say its definately worth $500-$700.Asl what his bottom dollar is? he may say $500. lol sounds stupid but pull out $400 and ask if he'll take it. If he says no tell him "I have another $100 in the car, but that supposed to be gas money" that has worked three times now.:D for example stingers merkur...Except less money.

I agree.. I just bought a 86LX Coupe with a 2.3L in it that ran great and drives perfect for $750. The guy had $995 on the window and I jus twalked up and said "woudl you take $700" and he said "Gimme $750 and its yours" so I did. You never know what some of these people have in mind as far as what they would "Really" sell the car for. I know I always price things a little higher than what I expect to get just so people will feel good about talking me down a little on it.

around here, if its a v8, and has no rust, people start asking $2500. I looked at a 5.0 with 130k on it and the guy wanted $2000. I ended up paying $1900 for my 4cyl. only 64k miles and its real straight. ( i know i over paid tho) but never been driven in winter, and after 6 months of looking, i finally gave in.
