How do I know if I have the 3650 in my car? (03 GT vert).

Also, this is my first manual car. What should I look for before I bring it in? Sometimes I have trouble getting it into reverse and I missed third a few times but I am not sure if everything else is ok. Maybe I should just bring it in and get them to fix it anyways?

Thanks!

Since the tranny is coming out maybe I will pay to get a aftermarket clutch put in since it will be torn apart? Are the stock 01 cobra clutches in the car OK? Or should I get a aftermarket one put in?

Thanks,
If you're pushing alot of hp at the wheels, I would say yes change it. I went with the SPEC stage 3 clutch because my car was pushing too much hp. It grabs like nobody's business and is no where near as smooth as the stock clutch. I don't drive mine everyday, so it doesn't bother me as bad. If it had been a daily car, I would have toned down the power and kept the stock clutch.

Can someone post the part numbers? I want to see if they added anything since my fix.

Thanks

No part numbers, but this is what they are replacing:

2nd gear
3rd gear
1-2 synchro assembly
3-4 synchro assembly
blocker rings
1-2 shift fork
1-2 shift rail
3-4 shift fork
3-4 shift rail
new fluid fill level (again)

All the parts are in a kit therefore only one part # which is 3R3Z-7124-AC

My rebuild used 3RZ-7124-AB Curious if I go in there with the TSB if they will repair it to the AC level parts?

I also wonder if this thread put any pressure on Ford to fix this problem. If any ford engineers read this, please contact me. Your customer service hotline has all my information. Jason Prokosch

I

According to the TSB document, all the new parts are revised and everything must be changes. All those parts from any previous fixes are useless now.

That brings up a stupid question. What happens to all the old parts they take out? Am i entitled to them? Can i request to keep them?

<<<Angryy stang owner, well I get my car back from the work they were supposed to do. I'm reading through everything and I qoute: "Roadtested by Service Manager and compared to like vehicle. Shifts normal for this type vehicle" Well no SHI$#@%%@% Dumb@$#$@^% if theres a TSB (Wich I gave them AND pointed out that you cant reproduce the issue, it just randomly happens!) then obviously it would drive the same as a like vehicle :bang: So come to find out they had my car for a week and didn't do anything except screw with the computer so now when I rev it up she stays at 2k for a few seconds instead of dropping below 1k like she used to. :( ANGER ANGER ANGER!

*edit* I was so mad I got sidetracked and started a new sentance w/out finishing one :p

dumb question.... what is the TSB #? or what can I give/show to the dealer?

and another... can this kind of thing be handled out of warranty?

TSB - technical service bulletin. It's not a recall but if you're under warranty Ford will fix it for free. It states any defect a ford vehicle may have but not hazardous. For a recall you do not need warranty. Hence for safety hazards.
So to answer your question no, it won't be covered if you're out of warranty. Ask anyway though to see what kind of deal they can make with you.
