Gotta Love Them Fords

War Stories:
A few months ago for spring break me and my friend rode up to Panama City for a day. I drove my fathers '95 Ford Explorer and he took his '97 Thunderbird. Well on the way home through a busy stop and go street, i has trying to fix my towel behind me, while talking on the phone, and driving at the same time. Yes i know sounds stupid and well it was very very stupid, but heh I'm young, i learned. Well the story continues he stopped in front of me and i didn't see it and ran into the back of him going only about 5 mph. But because ford is such a freakin great car, the only damage to either car was done to my father's florida state license plate in the front which shattered.

About a week ago i rode up to the gym in my red '01 stang. I stopped at the crosswalk to let some friends walk by, and next to the crosswalk happens to be parking spots. Well when i was stopped and waiting a lady who was parked decided she could go through me and backed right into me. My friend who was crossing shook his head in a negative way yet then i heard a loud popping noise and i saw his eyes light up in laughter. To my amazement a dent the size of a basketball or so had popped out of me "indestructable plasic" as i like to call it, and left not even a mark. Wow i love Fords!

I'm surprised your Mustang didn't even get the paint cracked where it was hit.

Umm...My friend hit someone in his '94 Explorer last week. It didn't even dent his bumper, but he said the lady's Hyundai was screwed.

My dad's 98 F-150 celebration had a tree ram right into the front end of it. Him and I were driving down the interstate and a tree mover didn't have his shi2t strapped down. One about the size of the truck in length ramed into the front end. We stopped instantly, got out pissed as the guy drove away. We couldn't even get a liscence plate cause leaves from trees covered it up. We pulled all the branches out and leaved. The damage was much less then what we thought from the crack of it hitting. It only cracked the grill a little in one spot and a few scratches. Hardly even noticable though. The truck was cherry though. We were still pissed, if we could have kept going and caught him.. There would have been some damage to his forhead. :nonono:

I hit the back on a Jeep Cherokee one day when it was raining. Wasn't paying attention like I should have and hit my brakes and just slide. Took a chunk out of the front bumper about the size of the steering wheel. Pushed my hood back and over some and part of my headlight was hanging on her hitch. It did give me an excuse to get my new hood though but not the way I would have choose.

um... .wow that = time rift thing, (make a time machine out of... a mustang!)
anyway, one of my brothers (silver GT 01' conv) friends was fooling around in the school parking lot with his mercedes benz e class Kompessor hatchback thing (not wagon), while he was taking a test inside in the school, and tried to whip around and park right next to his car in a nearly empty parking lot, well he missed and smacked into my brothers rear bumper with his rear bumper. from where i was standing, roughly 50+ yards away, i could see the mustang lung forward, and the bumper flex in and pop back out again. the only damage to the stang was some scuff marks that looked more like dirt than ripped plastic, and a small crack about <5 hairwidths and no more than 5 inches in length, meanwhile, the Kompressor had hit my brothers huge 3+ inch stainless steel bassani exhaust, which ripped right into his bumper, paint chips missing everywhere and since the way the kompressor's bumper is 'unique' it damaged like 3 parts in total, which would have cost a bundle to replace, but he repaired it for less, if you consider less being the same amount as replacing my brothers bumper, having it professionally painted (looks identicle, which is kinda hard to get since its that metallic silver =D ) and the bumper inserts replaced as well, lol, also the exhaust had to be bent slightly, like 2 degrees, back to its perfect position, and all is good, their still friends.

now, my brother is still on vacation in maryland visiting our cousin, who at the time either owns an BMW M3 roadster or an EVO VIII, and on his way down he got stuck in traffic, so he was making up for lost time, speeding, got stuck with a ticket, $275 (the same price no matter how fast you were going.) and just recently, he was driving down a road, and an 'oriental' woman and her child pull out in front of him, not enough time to stop, and she apparently didnt try to do anything either, and his car now has some dents in it (i have yet to see it, as he is coming back monday) mayeb ill get some pics if he doesnt get right to work within the second he gets home (although he prolly took pics for insurance type issues u kno?)
oh well, im sure its fine, after all hes still driving it, lol!

Lets see...
Back in the day, my older brother was driving the '66 289 coupe. He thought he could pull out in front of someone and make it. He didn't. Smashed up the right rear quarter panel, from the back of the tire to the back of the car. The other car had more serious damage to the front.

Awhile after that happened, my older brother was driving my '66 200 coupe. He slowed to turn right onto a street. The car behind him wasn't paying attention and ran into the right rear quarter panel. She didn't have a license.. I wonder why. Anyway, her car didn't make it. Mine had a little less damage than the time the 289 coupe got hit.

During a really bad storm, it seems a little tornado decided to land near our house, blew over a huge pine, that proceeded to break a huge oak in half. The oak landed on the edge of the carport, where the 289 '66 was sitting. Smacked the hood, grill, headlights, HL covers, and alil of the fenders.

Both cars are fixed now... I have more car wreck stories, but they're not Fords. :D

you guys to realize that modern cars are designed to crumble in front end collisions to reduce shock to the passengers? rear bumpers are almost the exact opposite because it needs to protect the gas tank...

I hate some of the stuff for designs. The clearcoat on my spoiler is coming off all by itself, I can only imagine what would happen if I actually got hit by something. I also had to break the factory radio after the clip on one side got stuck up into the side so the tool did nothing. Not a big fan of Ford myself.......
