what the hell went wrong??? I see you have a PI Intake and the newer style Alternator...something wrong with the install?? That sucks man....
PI Intake? Nah it's all stock. It's a 96. Or maybe it does and I dont know about it. Well me = :owned:

What happened was that a couple weeks ago I had my car running perfectly. I was soo happy. I had new tires and everything so I do a second gear brake stand and I heard a THUMP! sound. At that point I just stopped and was like :bang: because it was hard to pop it into gear and at first it wouldnt pop into gear. It started making this weird noise when I would let go of the clutch. I drove it the next day to Fresno.

About a week after it started making that noise I was at a Food4Less parking lot and I revved then engine a little and out of no where it goes KABOOOOM! I see pieced flying all over the place. The explosion was extremely loud and people came to check out WTF happened. My friend and people that saw when it happened said a fireball came from under the car and adviced me to check for any fire. :bang: :bang: :nonono:

According to the mechanic the bearing got stuck and thats why it blew up. Moral of the story, if you hear a weird noise when you let go of the clutch, get it fixed ASAP. Or prepare to be :owned: like me.

I still can't believe it happened when I wasnt moving and in a freakin parking lot!

Oh and it broke part of the block too. :(

Are you serious? Im getting a 98GT engine in the car hehe, and the guy said he was going to switch the intake with the one I had.

I need some more confirmation that it's a PI intake. *goes to google.com*

that guy is trying to get one over on you...by the way that intake is the better of the PI intakes the 99-2001 I belive have plastic crossover passages..you also might want to check to see if the cams in your motor are PI cams also. Just take the valve covers off both 96 and 98 motor and look at the cams. I'm not quite sure how you will be able to see the diff. in them but you ma be able to tell if they "look" newer??
Oh one way to tell is the 99-2000 cams have pressed on gears that are non-removable from the cam shafts them selfs 96-98 have bolted on gears. and so do the 2001-2004 cams have bolted on gears.

Well he said that he was switching the intake from the broken engine to the 98 motor. I saw him taking off the 98 intake yesterday and putting in the PI intake. So it's all good. This is good new :D I owe you guys a BJ!

nah I dont do bj's, how about a lap dance from some hot ass chick?

its not a PI intake-its a non pi intake with an aluminum crossover, effective solving the cracked intake problems that those cars have. i after i replaced two intakes on my 98, i bought the updated version-and it never leaked a drop after that. Hell, after i replaced it the first time, the car slowly leaked for almost a year and a half, til it finally gave and leaked like crazy.
