I can get a new 2004 Cobra for $34k or should I just wait for a 2005 GT? I am paying cash for either one I choose. It will be my daily driver and I will put snow tires on it for the winter months. What do you think?

Paying cash!!! you should get the Cobra for $28,000 Pay no more than $28,500.

MSRP is $36,500 and invoice is $33,000 so how is that a big deal? Besides, I live in New York and things are just more expensive here. Let me reiterate: I am trading in a 2004 BMW 330i for which they are giving me $32,000. Then I will pay the difference of $2,000 in cash. I want an even trade. Sorry for the confusion...

Just my thoughts. But you say put snow tires on and drive it in winter. Now you don't have where you live. But I am going to say for practical purposes. Buy the 05. You get a better suspension for improved handling all the time. And 390hp in the snow. Could lead to some hairy situations. I don't know to many 03 cobra owners that drive them in the snow. I'll drive mine in the snow. But that's because I have considerably less power.

Get the supercharged car with the '78 Fairmont underpinnings of course! :rlaugh:

No offense to anyone who happens to own one - I have one too. (fox4 Cobra that is, '98).

But ... but ... I love that interior :D

The only reason I'd get an 03 or 04 Cobra right now is if I was after sick horsepower (say, 700) for the lowest cost. Other than raw horsepower and a six-speed tranny, the 2005 Mustang GT is better in every way. IMO of course.

2005.

Say you pay 27k for it. For 5-6k you will be able to put a Kenne Bell supercharger on it. So, for the same price as a 2004 Cobra, you have the improved 2005 handling, interior, exterior, and potentially even more power.

you can get cobras for 30ish, and prob even lower as it gets closer to release date. u can get a lightly useed for one for much less

do u plan to mod your car right away? the aftermarket will take a bit to ramp up for the new cars, while for the current ones there are tons of options

forget the car. buy a internet tutor that can teach you to use the search tool.

Hey, I have a idea. You could buy a book on taking a chill pill and cutting the guy a little slack. #1 he may be new to the net. #2 sometimes the search function was down. #3 maybe he looked around the screen and just mind blanked, couldn't find it. #4 he may feel his situation is different because of climate, financial concerns or other reasons.

There are all sorts of reasons he might have posted this. He may have even thought most stangers are cool and would welcome him away from the beemer crowd and to the world of American iron. I hope he sees that MOST are pretty cool.

My advice for him is simple. They are very different cars. If you can get 32 for the beemer, I'd wait around for a year for the SPECIAL EDITION whatever it is. Hopefully More HP and better astetics (a hood maybe).

But if you are looking at amazing HP NOW, go for the cobra. If you are more nterested in style, it's the new stang. Maybe sell your BMW yourself. Get a new stang for 27K and see what steeda, rousch, saleen et all have to offer for another 5K or so.....

How exactly is anyone to know that you were being sarcastic (in a positive way). Being Sarcastic is sometimes called being wiseass, rude, condesending, less than nice. That's what I thought you were doing. Especially being condesending (cuz you were). I guess I missed the really really nice way you were being sarcastic.
