Meineke did the same thing to me, well they quoted me $700 even. Yes they are trying to rape you. I went to a local (non chain) shop and had everything done, parts and labor, for $300 out the door. Shop around!

HAHAHAHA thats insane. for headers back it shouldnt take more than 3 hours, beer breaks included!! it's all REALLY easy if you have the right tools. do it yourself!

yeah you can do it yourself if you're a pro welder, lol. I have mac's with an x pipe, the x gives it a considerably louder sound. the H will give you more low end torque, the X will give you more high end hp (from what i've read. dont quote me on that).

but yes, shop around. get references from the muffler shops, you dont want a monkey welding your setup together. and it probably would take them that long, because they would take it in the morning and get to it when they have time to. a local muffler shop will let you sit there and wait and watch while it's being done.

Meineke is crazy...they wanted to charge me about $800 for my true dual job. They also told me I'd have to leave my car there for a day. I wound up taking my Stang to American Brake and Muffler and they did it for $391.72 out the door and it took one person about an hour and a half. Guess that just goes to show that you need to shop around.

it doesnt matter because of the firing order on our v6's....neither an x nor an h pipe will change anything when it comes to performance. Just the sound...

meinikee (or however u spell it) has to ad advertising cost into their prices. And just like a car, its about 1/3 of the total price. So take 1/3 of 700(being their average price charged for a set of true duals) which is 233 dollars, subtract that from 700. which is 477. That is what they would charge u if they didnt have george forman advertising for them...then again, thats still a bit high but not insane...

A local shop where I live quoted me $225 for dual flowmasters with 2 cats removed. It was for dumps though. They told me $50 for coming out the back but thats without tips so would have to add in that but I am just going to get it dumped.
