hello i have a 95 with a 2000 model engine. the engine was pulled from a 98 and i put it in my 95. the valve cover has a sticker that says ford quality engine with the year 2000 written on it. anyway. i guess that means the heads are 2000 models to. well my 95 lower intake has a little bit different bolt pattern. it bolts up and i have been running the 95 intake but i also have the upper and lower intake that came with the engine, i am guessing they came from the 98. on one of the intakes it has 2 holes close to eachother and the same on the heads, but on the 95 intake it has the bolts further apart. this is confusing, i know it may be the other way around. i am not sure and i have the car parked somewhere else because i think v6 mustang should be discontinued.it is a piece of crap, i'd rather ride a bicycle to where i need to go before i drive this gas guzzling non running hunk. well is the 95 intake good enough for the 2000 engine or do i need to swap the intake. my car hesitates when the gas is revved fast from idle and this is the reason i ask. there is no vacuum leaks though and i guess that is all that matter on this intake huh. maybe i should'nt worry would a bad o2 sensor make the hesitation also. it is a single port intake.

You could just have a 2000 block, which I'm willing to bet is what is going on because you can't use a 95 intake on a 2000 split port engine with split port heads. Maybe you should just go get a nice gas sipping econo box...
And seriously trust me if you really do have a 2000 split port engine the 95 intakes WILL NOT WORK!!!!!!

PS: If you would rather ride a bike why don't you sell the stang and get a bike instead of fixing the car you seem to hate?????

because my wife just took it over so i can't sell. but if it was just a 2000 shortblock without the heads, then why would it have valve covers that have the certified ford logo crap on in. i am not saying against your words but i just wanna know

Maybe you just have 2000 valve covers. But seriously ask anyone else, I know you said you're not doubting me but, a 95 intake will not work on split port heads. Heck you might just have an engine with the wrong sticker who knows

the motor also has the balancer shaft as the 95 motor did not. i think they started putting the balancer shaft back in the 3.8 in 99 didn't they. it really doesn't matter though as i took the intakes off and the gaskets show no signs of leakage anywhere so that is good. today i will port the lower and upper intake.
