hey guys
i am going to upgrade my brakes on my 91 GT using the sn95 parts (except axles). I already bought some afs wheels, 17x8 +12 mm offset fronts wheels and 17x9 +36 mm offset rear wheels. My question is can i run those wheels with fox length axles? It says here http://svo73mm.cjb.net/ that 17x9 wheels with a +36 mm offset will work with sn95 length axles but doesn't say anything about fox length axles. I will also like to run a 275 tire so with that offset and fox length axles will i have rubbing issues? Sorry for starting another sn95 brake thread, i hope you'll forgive me. :D

I think the +36mm offset is going to be too much. On a 9" rim, that's almost 6.5" of backspacing. I can guarantee that will hit your quad shocks. It will probably hit, or come close to hitting, even if you flip them. Good chance the tires will hit the inside of the wheel wells also.

From what i've read, 6" of backspacing is maximum for the rear of a fox car with stock axles. 6.5" backspacing should fit a fox with an SN95 axle swap (the WHOLE axle) since it's over 1/2" longer per side.

I'm trying to find wheels to fit my '90 fox right now and am going throught he whole offset/backspacing crap just like you. From what i've seen so far on my own car and on other people's cars, i don't think those rears will fit.

I would be less worried about the quads, they are removable. I would worry more about the rim/tire hitting the inner fender well. On my car, Fox lentgh axles, 24mm Cobra R, it is damn close. And I am only running a 245 series tire.

Are you sure your AFS wheels are 36mm BS? I don't see it on thier website and I didn't know they made them. That wheel was made specifically for sn95 rear brakes on fox bodies to make up for the 3/4 inch difference but far as I know only Ford motorsport made them. If your running drum brakes you would be fine with the 5.95 BS or you can run a 1/2 spacer till you upgrade your brakes.
