I was wondering if anyone knew were i can get a set of hydraulic shocks to raise my trunklid. The problem is I am building a custom box in the trunk for some subs, and the arms that the trunklid is attached to, when the trunk closes they would interfer with the box. I am looking for somthing like on our hatchbacks, but for a coupe. if anyone knows where i can find that it would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

The easiest solution would probably be to use the spring set up off of a vert. It has a spring on each side of the trunk, where the arms come off the lid, eliminating the bars. This would give you the clearance you need without the fabrication work. I'm sure one of the vert owners would take a pic of theirs, its a mod that I am hoping to do also to free up some space.

The sn95 cars use shocks for the trunks kinda like fox hatches do. Take a look at the trunk setup on an sn95 car next time you see one, maybe you could fab something like that up.

I had the same problem. do a search on trunk support in this forum, you'll see a pic of a vert support. their a simple install and you only need to use one side if you want (unless you have a wing on the trunk, in which case youll have to use both sides because of the added weight.

I found mine at a used mustang parts place where I live in Canada. try ebay or 50resto might have them.

I will third the vert springs, I have them. It takes 2 people to install, but its easy. I only had to drill one hole per side and I put the carpet behind them. They look factory, except they are black on my white car.
