I have an '02 GT and just installed Bassani headers, Bassani off-road x-pipe, and Magnaflow cat-back. My question is, should my check engine light be on without cats? It's been 2 days now and the light hasn't come on. The bulb is OK. ( Turns on when you turn ignition on) So it's not the bulb. Something wrong??????????Any ideas????????????Thanks! :flag:

How hard was the install on those midlengths and did you have to cut your X pipe to make it fit with the CB. I am planning on buying those same headers soon and need to know if I can do the install or have to have them installed and welded by a pro.

Try getting mill eliminators, if the light does comes on and bugs u, then take out ur battery and touch your + and - wires together for 20 seconds to reset ur computer and will buy some time for several days untill the ses light will come back on.

Installation wasn't that bad. If you plan on ordering the headers and x-pipe, make sure the x-pipe is the "5-piece"(new)(bassani revised x-pipe to make fit shorties AND MIDS with no welding.) pipe and not the "3-piece". If you get the "5-piece" x, it will all clamp together nice to the mids. It's mice because you can remove the cats with 2 clamps and install a straight tube that bassani calls "x-tubes" that come with their x-pipes. I had no problem bolting my setup to my Magnaflow cat-back. I surprised a few friends when I told them I installed everything myself in the driveway. Yes, on my back for 2 days! I am only 22yrs old with no mechanic training, just a do it yourselfer. Hope it helps!

My setup sounds so original. I never heard another Mustang like mine. The hell with Flows! They sound good, but everyone has 'em. The flow like crap too!

I removed my cats. It's loud and smooth until 3K, then it screams and "raspy" nasty V8 roar! Poeple tell me it just sounds plain out NASTY!

Maybe its becuase I have 16 more valves, or 2 more cams, but my offroad Xpipe and flowmaster mufflers sounds like a demonic thunder. Going WOT in 2nd and putting it in nuetral at redline, and hearing the RPM decellerate gives a unique tone that NO other muffler has. It has a polyphonic, thunderous, echo'ed roar that makes me smile a little inside every time I hear it.

I have tried convincing myself otherwise, but I always end up coming back to terms with myself, that flowmaster, given the right setup, is the most throaty, thunderous, "muscular" sounding exhaust for a Mustang. Weither or not they are "played out" has nothing to do with the fact that Flowmaster invented a unique sound that no other company can match.

With that said, the only "straight through" exhaust system I would consider would be a Bassani Street Competition series catback. Loudest/Throatiest straight through catback i've ever heard.

congrats bro! i'm too lazy and too impatient to do that by myself..I have a friend that would hook me up for $30...worth it for.. your light WILL come on...mine came on a little over a month, then every time i reset, it came back on almost immediately...get the mils..

How hard was the Header install. Any advice on installing headers, I looked under my car and wondered hoe is it possible to get to all those header bolts.

Gearhead, yours is not the original...i had the same set up wayyy before you.. :)
And yes, the sound is very very nice and unique. i wouldnt trade them for flows, slps, or borla, and ive heard all of them in person.
