to those who have taken their car in for the tsb and gotten it back, what does your paper say on it, mine says:

part numbers
FMC 3R3Z 7230 AB *FK ASY-TRANS 1S-SPO
SPO 3R3Z 7230 AB *FK ASY-TRANS 1ST &
FMC XT 2 QDX *FLUID-AUTO TRANS 1QT
PARTS: COUNT 5

I didn't see the tsb# anywhere on my reciept, so im just wondering wether or not they put all the parts in from the tsb. Thanks

Well I still have not received my 01 Cobra back from getting the TSB 04-15-06 fix. I also persuaded them to install a new aftermarket clutch since the tranny was going to be out. They have had the car for 2 weeks now. Friday, (when it was supposed to be done) the service rep told me there was a small problem. They said they found a hairline crack in the casing. (I am not sure if it was the clutch housing or the tranny housing). I think they may have tighten the bolts to much and cracked the thing.... So now they said a new housing would be there on monday or tuesday... Looks like I have to wait another $*&&%&* week! At least I get a free rental car.... I really hope my car is not going to be F'd up!!!!

Lol well i guess I'm :owned: . I bought my 01 used theres no way I can afford nearly 2k for the fix. For that much i'd be well on my way to buying a new tranny wouldnt I? At least i've only had it jump out of 2nd once on me, scared the crap out of me though. As messed up as it seems to be for most people it should be a general recall.

I just got my car back from the dealer for this tsb. My problem was more of the 2-3 grind. The 1-2 would grind in the morning but after a few shifts would go away. I haven't had a chance to drive around a lot but it definitely feels a lot smoother. 1-2 and 2-3 engage a lot better, no clashing/grinds so far. When they inspected they said 2-3 sincro was bad, found 2 gear bad and 1-2 shift fork and 3-4 shift fork was bad. So if your still under warranty make sure to get this done.

I just got a call from my dealer that the TSB is out!!! It's about time! I'm glad my warranty is still good! The dealer is going to order the parts and will call me when they are ready for me to bring in the car. I will post again with the results of the fix.

Are you sure you have the 3650? The early 2001s have the T-45. It was kind of notchy/grindy when cold but not nearly as bad. I think there is a code on the door jamb that will tell you, I forget.

I just got my car back from the TSB fix and DAMN!!!! What a difference... the car shifts perfect. Plus I had them put in a McCleod stage 2 clutch from MM. Total cost from the dealer to put it in.... $74! I am very happy.

Mine is going in on Monday the 16th. I hope I have the same results as you. I'll be glad when it's finally fixed. We sure waited a long time.

Ok I've driven about 400 miles now since I got the tsb. I put the pro5 shifter back on and my car shifts GREAT. No grinds or anything. I did question fords ability and if they would be competent enough to do a quality job and not just make things worse, but they actually did a good job.

Just got the call also. Mine is going in on the 23rd.

I wonder if it pays to have Ford swap out the clutch even though there is no problem with it?

I would ask them to check it for wear and if it would be recommended to change it. I doubt if it would be covered under warranty though.
