I have alot of plans for my II. Since I won't be able to make them all happen within the next year, I guess they're just dreams. But whats your plans for your II? If your II is already finished, what have you done to it? My plans are as follows.

I want........

Performance/Engine:
1. Headers
2. World/Roush cast iron heads 2.02 intake/1.60 exaust (Any downsides to not going with aluminum heads other then weight savings? I consider these heads money saving, less then 1,000 for the pair)
3. Intake "undecided"
4. 1.6 rockers
5. H pipe
6. flowmasters/ or dynomax bullets
7. underdrive pulleys
8. Aluminum radiator
9. Ford Racing T 5 tranny
10. 5 lug conversion
11. Big brakes
12. Magnum 500 wheels "has anyone seen these on a II?"
13. posi track, or whatever ford wants to call it, Both tires spinning basically! lol
14. 3.73's
15. Beef up the suspension, what do I do for that??

Body/ looks

1965 GT 350 Apron custom body shops in okla anyone? :D
Side scoops
color combo undecided, but leman's stripes :)
black bezels
chrome gas cap
halogen lights
If ever possible, grille exchange and relocate turn signals :nice:
roll pan

Thats all I can think of for now......If you have any tips/advice/comments for that list feel free to tell me. I need to know them. :)

Funny you should mention it; I'm making the "final" list for this winter's project right now.

Right now I have a white, '78 Fastback T-top 302, '66 289 HP heads, factory twin pipes, and a C4 w/ B&M shift kit. I finally got it to quit smoking and got the T-tops sealed.

This fall/winter I plan to do/add/install:

- final touch-ups on body: door dings, etc.
- Paint -- satin primer "ratrod" black, with sealer
- gold pinstripes
- replace vinyl strip on Targa top
- 10-lb. nitrous system
- Progressive-linked 500cfm dual quads
- Headers, most likely plumbed straight out through the fender wells -- this is the last (and was the first) stumbling block
- Cobra-style side pipes
- rear hatch louvers
- spoiler
- giant-@$$ snorkel hood scoop or Enderle-style "bird catcher"

Time and finanaces permitting:
- Fox-body seats
- 5-bolt wheels with Mickeys in the rear
- Start chasing down rattles and squeaks

My dream? I have a line on a 390 that needs boring; it'd be a 406 at .30 over. My dream is to find a way to make it fit -- I'm not opposed to cutting the engine bay right out (same goes for the tranny tunnel) and bolt in a built C6 that has found its way into my sandbox. My dream is to run a dual-quad nitrous 400 II; either a 406 big block, or a 392 hemi. I have a line on both; I just don't know when/how on either. But that's years away.

My goal is to strike terror into the hearts of the Microsofties who work on the other side of the office complex from me, and who currently buzz my Saturn in their cute little ricer sleds.

Join the Club kiddo. I no more than get mine on the road and something else breaks... just how the story goes. I'd like to have it mobile again at least before winter sets in. Here's the to do list:

For the '78 Fastback:
-Change out tranny and PUT THE COOLER IN THIS TIME. :nonono:
-Fix the Body Damage and if I'm really lucky squirt color back on it.
-Finish the 3/8" fuel line upgrade; add cool can and 18 Gal fuel cell.
-Re-route exhause and make provisions for a removable 'H' pipe

For the '78 Ghia:
-Swap engines
-re-assemble interior as far as I can with parts provided
-Clean it up, give it a once over and place a 'Fer Sale' sign in 'er.

For the '76 Cobra II:
-Heh.... yeah... a FULL resto some time within the next decade

And that's just the Mustang II's and doesn't count the work needed to all the others I own!!! :owned:

Hey Joey- I sure wouldn't mind having that 392!!! :nice: :nice: :nice: I'd tear that 327 out of my 'C-Cab and stuff it full of 392 cubic inches of MO-Par POW-ah! :D

I've got a couple of FE blocks here. Heck, all you hafta do is get a 360/390 Block and scrounge up a 410 FE Merc crank and viola! there's your 406! Last one I build for a friend was a 416, IIRC (360 bored .030 with a 428 crank) and ran a healthy custom Ground Isky CJ spec. cam in it. It was a STRONG runner and made a real squirrel out of the 68k original mile '69 F250 we stuffed it into. Had G-code '61 interceptor heads on it fitted with 428 CJ valves, tri-power, headers, and full Mallory ignition. :nice:

Another option to get 400ci into a II is a 3.84" stroker crank in a 351W -- makes a small-block 392, if my math is right. Way cheaper and less headache than the surgery required to stuff a hemi or a big-block into the II. You could still get >400hp at the crank with the right heads. . ..

I dunno. First things first -- my baby needs a facelift. Thanks for the heads-up on the frame-huggers.

What I plan on doing/am in the process of doing:

Finish my 408 build
G-Force T5
Currie 9" rear end, 31 spline axles, Detroit Locker
Barry Grant fuel pump w/ AN10 fuel lines
Griffin aluminum radiator w/ electric fan
Cal-Trac traction bars
15" Weld Pro Stars
Heidt's Granada/Wilwood front brake kit
Roll cage
Body work and paint

Gotta start working on the traction issues.
Convert to 5-lug (Maverick rear and swap in the posi and gears, and Heidt's 11" out front)
15" rims and rubber (leaning towards the Magnum 500s too. Wheel Vintiques makes them and can do custom backspacing so I just contacted them and waiting for response)
Traction Bars

I've never seen Magnum 500s on a II in person, but I did a quick photochop on my car. When I get off work, I'll try to remember to post it.

This would fall under the "dream" section because I'm moving for school in 2 weeks and the Mustang ain't coming with me.
So I'll keep on reading and researching and trying to find deals for the next couple of years... start stock-piling parts.

I hope this works.

I say why fall short of my dreams. So it may take me a while but it will live up to all my wildest dreams.

Mods already done
- edlelbrock 4 barrel with a demon carb
- Headers
- Dual exhaust
- rewired entire car with painless performance universal wiring kit
- Alpine CD Player
- 2 12" JBL 450w subs
- 700watt amp

Mods laying around I must complete.

- Paxton Supercharger, laying on the pool table :) got it yesterday
- Orange and black paint, (my brother's ranchero had to move out of the paint booth.)

Things I still need to acquire

- Trac Lok ( new one )
- gears
- wider wheels & tires

Thats it for now.

Where I'm at now:

393ci engine (if you want more info on it let me know and I can spam the list)
T5 Transmission
Full 3" exhaust system from headers back
3.55 gears (posi/traclock/whatever)
Traction bars
Nice black interior for the most part
Boss 429 fiberglass hood scoop for clearance

What I want to do:

Paintjob, probably '76 Cobra II style, most likely white w/ blue stripes, no writing.
Maybe try the racing front air dam
Finish up my interior, paint the dash black instead of the red it's at
Auto-Meter gauge setup
Bigger rear tires for regular driving
Slicks for drag racing
Line Lock
Stronger 5-6spd transmission
Install subframe connectors
Get more suspension work done
Modify radiator setup more, and fit a Lincoln MK VIII fan
Get the engine tuned
Alarm system
Other stuff I probably forgot
