heres my deal. I've got bbk longtubes to a bbk o/r h-pipe into 2 chamber flows. Plain and simple it doesnt sound mean enough for me. does anyone besides bbk or mac make x pipes for these headers? My 96 cobra i just sold had just a bassani mid to flows and it was nasty mean. I dont know. I'm open for ANY suggestions. I dont miss the 4.6(bitch to work on) at all but i do miss the sound that it made. Thanks fellas.

no matter what, the 4.6 will have a different sound. my friends 01 cobra is "louder" than mine by a little but mine sounds much meaner. thats kinda why im going to be doing dumps sometime soon to get the loudness back a bit

Although you cant hide the sound of a 5.0, I also believe my car moderately resembles a 4.6....it's definitely the highest pitched 5 liter Ive ever heard. I have BBK LTs, Dr. Gas X, and Spintech pro-streets. Sounds like a formula 1 car when I go under highway over passes at 5 K. :nice:

so dr gas makes an x-pipe that will fit the longtubes? How much did you pay for it? All in all dr. gas and bassani have always been my choice mid-pipe. I didn't really ever research it.

Yes, they do. Unless something has changed, it arrives in pieces, and you really have to have a shop put it together for you (unless you have the proper cutting/welding/bending equipment). If I remember correctly, I paid right at $200 for mine. I have BBK LT's, the Dr. Gas pipe, and Magnaflows. Sounds bitchin'. Kinda stinky, though, makes my eyes water, I may have to switch back to a catted pipe...

BIG Noise!!!

I'm using MAC 2½" from the heads to rear axle and topped it off with 3" tail pipes, full tube headers & H-Pipe w/cats. When old women walking down the street have to stop and turn around to see what the hell is coming then I know my machine is loud and just the way I like it...
