MAC straight shot installed

Its a ****ing PIPE that connects to two spots. Its not brain surgery to figure out that the piece in the kit I was shipped was too long. Maybe they have a "quality control" issue of mis-measured pipes or something.

I still dont understand why you people get your panties in a wad over having to cut a measly 1 or so inch off the intake, good grief, not like your having to re-solder something on the motherboard of the cars ECU. Good grief.

Valve stem caps are a lot cheaper fix than a 200 dollar intake...Its still up in the air in my opinion. Id be pretty pissed if I had to cut a 20 dollar section or pipe off of my brand new intake. We'll see...

Oh good grief, do you guys ever get your hands dirty? Im not defending the kit sayin its awesome, but its just a pipe.

I hope no one installs a nitrous kit, you hafta like cut alota wires and drill holes and stuff. And that kit is like 600+$ Whew!

I think the point is you shouldnt have to for a CAI. You remove one pipe and replace it with another. It seems as if they didnt do there homework, makes them look like they just "threw it together" There are a million mustangs all from the same assembly line, so it's not like the length should vary from car to car. So dont compare it to Nitrous kits or valve stems, show me a nitrous kit that doesnt have to be spliced, thats to be expected, then show me how many CAI have to be "cut" to fit, its not the same thing. But unlike some Im not dogging the unit, im interested in it myself just waiting for some dyno sheets.

again u dont have to cut the pipe......mine fits perfectly....turboscrew has the system too and hes switched back and forth from the mac maf and the stock maf and everything still fits....i think it just comes down to those people who are cutting are idgets who cant install a simple cai right

RoadracerGT dude, put the crap pipe down............

I have been wrenching my own stuff since age 10, so don't tell me to fix what should be close perfect when bought.

Better soultion is to be a man and call Mac and say WTF???

Somtimes they make a mistake and not know it.
You could be the hero and save grief for hundreds..........

Peace

Yea, thats what it is..... I can install a set of rear gears, a nitrous kit, hook up a stereo system, and long tube headers. The CAI was too much brain work for me, im surprised I got the hood popped.

I guess you, and the others just need to stick to some UPR interior stick on dress up parts or something. You act like it was such a traumatic experience. Problem was solved. I dont know why i bother....... It fits......get over it, go cry about having to port an polish your hood prop so it fits in your hood or something.

Oh one more thing for you guys to cry and whine about........

When i got the kit, the heat sheild had 2 little scratches near the bottom, and around where the bend for the throttle body is, there was smudge. It was awful, i tossed and turned all night on what to do.

12amracer, look the system should be a BOLT on affair with minimum adjustment needed.

WHY after all these years would a company make a CAI for a NA car that required you to cut the sonofabitch ?????

Makes no dam sense at all to me.

Lord help you hack up a kit to find it was the wrong/defective one and you get stuck with the bill X2.

Exactly, i was just trying to get him to use reasoning as to why people were turned off by cutting the pipe, which BTW some have said they did not have to do  But oh well still waiting for dynos!

still think people are idgets for cutting the stupid pipe...didnt need to be done. :bang:
i mean come on if i..someone who is prob the least mechanical person ever figured out how to put it in without cutting it then yah u are an idget i dont care if u can build an engine with a brick, rubberband, and a frisbee ur an idget :D
