Called my local performance shop (the only one in the area) and they quoted me $660/hr for a engine rebuild. I'm looking to go with forged internals and put some serious giggle juice to it, but $660/hr for labor in addition to the parts seems a bit steep. For that kind of money, I'll buy a crate from Sean Hyland. Does this seem a bit high for 'performance' labor?
Thanks

I was on a cell phone standing on a balcony so maybe I did misunderstand him. But he also quoted well over $2K for a crank which I know is too high. His total for the build was just over $6k for the whole shootin' match, so maybe $660/hr isn't right.

660bucks/hour....
may be they are sooo good, ahat it only takes them 3~4 hours to take engin out, do compleate tear down, machining, and ordering, and rebuild it, test it, and put it back in the car with great warrenty??
