Guys with 18"s (revisited) which tire brand would you go with???

Started a thread a while back about diff. tire sizes. Here is the deal. Have the 18X9" and 18X10" Bullitt Anthracites sitting in my bedroom the last month and a half. :nonono: But it is now time (I can now afford) to get some tires and put those bad boys on the Stang. :D

I have already decided on going with 265/35/18's up front and 295/35/18's out back. My question for you all is in the title. Have toyed with idea of going DR in back, but on a daily driver it would just hurt the wallet too bad.

BFG - Comp T/A KD's - Damn expensive, but I can afford it THIS TIME :D

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's

Yokohama AVS Sport

Toyo TS-1's

The Nitto555's are a good tire IMO and cheaper 850 a set, but only go 285 out back, I want WIDER dammit :D

What brand would you guys go with???

i just put the bullitts on as well..same sizes as you decided on..i went with the bfg kd's out back, and kumho mx's in front...cant tell you how i like em cause the car is still in the shop....but the tires do look sweet on the car..and from what i hear about traction with the kd's, you shouldnt be disappointed

BFG's.... :nice:

Have you had any other tires on there FiremanZ? I am pretty much set on getting the BFG's. But have a buddy who has the Goodyear Eagle F1's on the back of 17X10.5's. They look like they have a good bit of tread on there, as in looks like they would last awhile. Im just curious what the stickiness versus a longevity factor on the tires I posted above.

BTW - to anyone checking out this thread. Feel free to post some pics - I have nothing against checking out some bad ass stangs :D :hail2:

I'm running the yokohama's avs db. I got a good deal on them from discounttiredirect.com because they were on closeout, $165 each. They are decent, terrible traction in rain but that is to be expected and dont make much noise when I spin them. I think they were worth what I paid but not the 270 each that they are asking for the model that replaced them(by the way the new model of the tire was on backorder from discount tirre when I got a flat about 6 months ago). If I were to do it again I would go smaller width up front, probably 245 or 255 because the 275's pull way too much.

I don't have any experience with the other manufacturers but I LOVE my KD :hail2: Only way to chirp the tires on the 1-2 shift is to powershift. Granted, I have 295 on a basically stock GT but still... They also hook surprinsigly well in the rain. They are awesome !

With that said, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the tires on your list.

Nope, but I had 18x9's on my last stang with Nitto 555's and they were okay. I really noticed the difference with the KD's as opposed to the 555's and this car has 145 more hp than the last car. :nice:

I will be upgrading to BFG DR 315's when the construction in my neighborhood is finished though.

I was looking to buy the same size rims as you guys have, did you need to any modifications to fit the back rim/tire without it rubbing, like massaging the inner wheel well?
My car came with the 18x10's on the rear so I honestly don't know if they altered the wheel wells or not before it left the plant.

Not on your list, but I love my Sumitomo HTRZ-IIs. Great tires for the price :nice:

Otherwise, I would probably go for the Toyos on your list. I have used the Toyo FZ4s on a couple cars before and they were nice for an all-season HP tire. The T1S should be even better as a summer tire.

Those Sumitomos hook pretty well? When I got my rims, the guy told me he could get me a good deal on those, not sure of the model #. I was worried that would be like the Kuhmo's <--- Havent read much good about those on here.

Got the money this time around, so wanted to go with top of the line stuff, those KD's are looking better and better. Surprised no one has pimped the Goodyear F1's

AVS Sports :worship: Things frickin hook in the rain, it's great. :nice:

And they'll make some noise if you want them too

Gino, how long have you had those? I am curious about the longevity factor, I am 20-30 freeway miles each way to work. Im sure they have similiar treadwear numbers to the BFG's. hmmmm let me go check...

Yoko AVS sport = 180aa  <--I'll bet those suckers do grip well. :D

BFG Comp T/A KD's = 200aa :semi shock:

Gooyear F1's = 220aa <--little bit better
