300rwhp from a 99-04 GT, what's it take?

we have done several cam changes with a custom tune , average power is 300-310 rwhp. and this has been done with the .500 lift comp cams. with the stronger crower grinds and springs the shop car was at 330 rwhp. so it can be done with cams alone

I'm hoping this is either on 4Vs or 2Vs with serious headwork. Otherwise, I need to know where your shop is so I can get my Comps swapped out for something different.

It doesn't really take *too* much. With your money applied properly, it can be had for less than most people would think.

I was sitting at 260rwhp before adding my T/A(16deg), now I have pullies on the way and a set of VT stage 1 cams coming shortly. With a tune, I don't see any reason why I can't break 300rwhp and I haven't exactly spent a ton on the car. I'll still have stock heads, stock exhaust manifolds and my stock cat back. There's a bit more left to do in the bolt on department but, I didn't think it was needed quite yet.

260 rwhp from these mods:

C&L Plenum
C&L 85MM MAF
C&L True Flow Pipe
BBK 75MM TB
MAC ProChamber

If a stock 5-speed dynos at 218 rwhp, that means that you added 32 rwhp with the mods listed above. Without a tune, that hardly seems possible.

Uhhh, the Mach 1 Mustang is only 305hp at the flywheel, not the rear wheels. A Mach 1 or NA Cobra gets about 255-265rwhp

Sorry but that is incorrect. My 100% stock Mach 1 (down to the factory paper filter) dyno'd 277hp/303tq SAE corrected. It's been said countless times before but you must have missed it.... The Mach 1 is UNDERRATED. :flag:

A. 260 rwhp - 218 rwhp = 42 rwhp, not 32.

B. Would is seem possible if he started off with 231 rwhp like I did when my 03 GT 5 speed was stock? If so, then he only gained 29 rwhp.

All you guys and your "trade in" advice isn't helping this guy when he asks for how to get a 99-04 GT to 300 rwhp. a mach aint a GT is it? Maybe the 32v, or the IRS isn't something that he wants in a vehicle. 300 rwhp is not hard to make contrary to popular belief. Don't trade in ur car. Get some new heads, some agressive cams, a full exhaust, and a tune. I doubt you even need a t/a or a t/b to get there.

nitrous.

if you don't want that, then do some bolt ons and headwork.

cams
long tube headers (if possible)
O/R X pipe
port/polish heads
pullies (if you want)
timing adjuster
plenum/tb (if you want)
JLT True CAI for your GT

should put you around 300.

Gotta go with cali on this one people are starting debates on something totally different from what this thread is about. With cams and a full exhaust meaning a good set of headers all the way to the mufflers and a nice tune you should be close to 300 rwhp if not a little bit over.

29rwhp is still a lot for tb, maf, mid pipe, plenum. I have all those plus pulleys and cat back and I dyno'd a low low 255 SAE :(
