my cars AC hasnt worked for two years now and just the other day it decides to start working!? so im thinkin that there is a problem with the switch that moves it from the heater to the AC? does anyone know anything about how that part of the system works? theres a little valve under the hood that has a vacuum line coming from the intake, through the valve, then into the fenderwell. this little valve also has two or three wires in it. mine just hangs there, doesnt look right? i have no idea what its for? but im thinkin this thing could be the problem?

BUMP!! anyone? now i really got problems, i attempted to try and fix it, but things only have gotten worse! and the only thing i did was pull out the heater/AC controls and look at them? well heres the problem now, i can still turn the heater on but its stuck on defrost. no matter which one i select (max A/c, norm A/c, defrost, vent, floor) it always comes out the defrost vents? can anyone help me? please! :hail2:

If it won't switch modes, that's definitely a vacuum leak. Either under the hood, or in the dash somewhere. You should be able to get some assistance from this forum -- I *know* I've heard a couple people talk about broken vacuum lines under the dash causing exactly this symptom.

My A/C has started to crap out on my car. A friend of mines is thinking of getting rid of his, and if I can't fix my A/C, im going to do the same. As we where talking, same subject, he said A/C's use up some gasoline, or that A/C's use up more gasoline when turned on. is that true ?

BTW, I think, he's somewhat of a Mustang expert, that **** he's done to his car is insane.
