just a quick question. in RWD cars the RWHP is less than the BHP, is it the same with FWD cars or does the HP stay about the same from BHP to FWHP? I was just curious because a guy at school has a V6 Tiburon and its HP is 176(BHP) which is about what a stock V6 Stang has (RWHP). Of course hes gona rice it out but i was wondering if i could beat him. All i've got is a K&N CAI and a MAC cat-back on the way. Pretty sure i can but was wondering ne-way

All cars have some HP loss from the flywheel to the wheels. It's not so much the placement of the drive wheels as it is the transmission and how efficient it is. True, a FWD car has less rotational mass due to less axle, but theres still a bit of loss. Weight also plays a factor in how quick a car is compared to its HP rating.

however, with fwd, the hp loss can sometimes be just the same because you usually have to do a 180º turn from the back of the engine to the differential

V6 Tibs have 170hp, not 176. They were originally rated at 181hp, but then Hyundai knocked it down to 170hp, I believe... not that that is a huge difference, but anyway. Oh, and stock V6's don't have 176rwhp... more like 155-165rwhp. I would call it a driver's race with a slight advantage to you assuming you both have the same tranny. You have more power, he has less weight.
