Motive Gears Good or Bad ?

Im kinda debating the whole Motive 3.90 gear thing. I just am trying to figure out which gear will put me in "drone city" at 65 on the highway. I guess it depends on who installs them and how good a job they do with it.

glad i found this thread, about to install a pair of 3.90's myself, and was hoping that these were reliable. I wish more companies made the 3.90 too, thats the only reason i went motive.

hm, but like with all new parts, i think if you dont treat it right, or let it get used to the car, then something is bound to happen. plus bad karama. or maybe im just a :taco:.

Give her a basic dry run, usually some people leave it up on jack stands and run her thru 1st, 2nd, and 3rd then reverse. Set her down and take her on a nice smooth drive on the highway for about 20 minutes or so. Go home and park the stang for a while then slowly break her in. After a day or two go ahead and romp her into 1st, 2nd and so on. Gears are tricky some people are fine by just launching their stang right off the bat with new gears but I belive the rear end can get expensive so better safe than sorry, your call though.

thanks alot. i totally agree with you on this one. Well the dealership that i got them installed at is about a 30 minute drive from my house so ill drive home and then park it for the night and then do some short drives tomorrow and probably romp on it on monday.
