I am quite concerned....

If oil is getting into the combustion chamber, it can only be one of two things. The oil ring on the piston is bad, or the valve guide is bad.

If it's the oil ring, the fix is obvious. But the cause is a mystery. You should definately get that cylinder checked out. Maybe the bore is out of spec. Or, it could just be a defective ring.

If it's the valve guide, then you need to ascertain what caused the valve guide to break. Like said above, a loose rocker or whatever. Hopefully the valve isn't bent.

Good luck!

valve seals go bad and they leak at startup/idle, so I would start there as well, As far as working on your car, the valve cover check could be done in a 1-2 hr time, I would go to the nearest park and do it there, if anyone ask's you broke down while there relaxing/swinging playing basketball (even put a ball in the back seat and have on some sweats/shorts) should work on a quick looky loo deal, ghetto as hell though.

maybe you have an exhaust leak by the #4 cylinder... is there carbon buildup around that section of the head/header? an exhaust leak sounds like a tick and it will foul up a plug.
