Yep yep, Turning off the track control..

Car runs great, its just that the few times that Ive burntout Ive only got 1 tire mark left beghind.

I know the Service Manager @ my dealer and asked him if both tires are supposed to spin, he told me that up to a certain point, then the power gets transfered to the right wheel...

So I dont know what to think, anyone else have any ideas?

I guess Ill have to try again to be sure, but its obvious the few times that ive lit them up and have had smoke come in the car... Ya look back and one tire mark.

HELP!

:)
All I can is is if you're getting is 1 tire Friar have your rearend looked at, it sounds like it's getting loose.......ohhh and BTW don't run slicks until you find the problem!!!!!

What part don't you understand? Do you really think heel-toe is a techinque to lay rubber? If you don't believe my explaination, go talk to someone who actually races cars - or, hell, just go look for it on the internet. You obviously need to be educated on what heel-toe is and apparently don't believe the info I've provided is true. My guess is you are of the younger generation, right? No offense intended.

First, calm down

Second, the heel-toe method he was talking about is a technique few people use to do a brake stand. They hold the brake and hit the gas with the right foot leaving their left foot free to operate the clutch.

I'm from the younger generation and the first thing that pops into my head when i hear "heel-toe" is heel-toe downshifting.

I've been practicing my heel-toe now for the last few weeks and i'm slowly getting it. I do it mostly when i'm coming off the highway at high speed (65-75MPH) in 4th gear and need to decrease speed fast and get myself into 2nd gear for the merge onto the other highway when i come to the end of the ramp. It keeps the revs high while staying on the brake so you can immediately get on the gas when you are done braking.

As for the whole rear end debate, all 86-04 V8 Mustangs come with a trac-lok rear end. It's not an option it's standard. Both wheels will spin, but physics and gearing will cause the right tire to want to spin more. On open rear cars, this is the tire that usually slabs up. Also, when you take right turns, you'll notice it's easier to spin the tires taking a right turn vs taking a left turn. Both tires should lay black marks, but the right one will sometimes spin a tad bit longer than the left driver's side one. Also, the crest of the road can cause the car to kick out. Most roads have a crown in the middle, so if you get on it, the rear may kick to the pass side towards the sidewalk. When those back tires are spinning, any force can influence the rear end to swing to either side. A slight slope is all gravity needs to slowly pull the rear to the side. If you had someone stand next to the car and nudge it, the rear will swing as well.

On some wet pavement, dump the clutch or floor the automatic and see which tires spin up. They both should right away

Could it be I'm being a dumb arse??

Just thought I'd follow up,

I was being a dumb arse, nothing is wrong.. I Guess for whatever reason, when I only laid that one track of rubber I must have been doing something wrong.

Last night I laid 2 nice LOOOONG patches on a nearby road, smoke going everywhere twas great!

And for those heel-toe commentz, cmon, ive got the ball of my right foot on the break and the tip on the gas. :nice:

Heel-Toe is a method of downshifting, but if this is how you 'lay rubber', then so be it.
