i did a search but couldnt really find what i was looking for.

first off i use to have an o/r dr. gas x-pipe w/ 2 chamber flows and BBK longtubes... it was on a 4.6 though.

i really liked the dr. gas in the upper rpm range it sounded sick... but at idle i thought it was to quiet.

so im looking for a deep, loud, grumbly exhaust.... so that would be an H-pipe correct?

so what mid pipe, catback, and headers would be good? im leaning towards the BBK LT headers since if used them before and liked them... but not really sure on the mid pipe or catback....

ive heard the BBK o/r h-pipe and it sounded pretty mean... looking for something like that...

edit: i've read alot about the dynomax bullet mufflers... any thoughts on those?

so as an example of a setup... BBK LT's BBK o/r h-pipe and some dynomax bullet mufflers? how would that sound?

any suggestions ya'll?

thanks

If you want balls to the walls low "grumbly" you might want to look at prochamber

you need a straight thru-muffler....... if you want a bad idle................chamber mufflers cover it up at idle .....................or just a bigger cam.

so... whats a straight thru muffler? would the dynamax bullet be?

or should i just run straight pipes.... so headers to h-pipe to tips.... basically

I have the Bulletts on my Bird, and they are great. I was worried about having that glass pack pop from them, but none at all.

That's basically my combo...FMS Shorty Headers, BBK off-road H Pipe and Flowmasters w/ a B-303 cam and that's what it sounds like :nice: Note that your cam will also contribute, so just because you put "x" exhaust combo on, doesn't mean it'll sound exactly like that. Also, mine has full tails, no dumps or anything and it still sounds awesome.

The Bullets with a H pipe and no cats sounds great. It is a little loud if a daily driver. I got them for there great flow and very light weight, the great sound was an added benefit. This is a weekend only car, so being a little loud is not a problem. With tails, they would be fine on a daily driver with a light foot.

i have heddman shorties:bbx orx and original flow 40s: stock cam.....but the thing is the flows are 3" in/out, so i put 3" dump tips when i put the xpipe on so the sound is deep, it sets of alarms at idle.... what if i change one tip back to 2.5" and mix the sound? i have a clip too, but its not hosted...

I'm currently running BBK LT's, a Custom X Pipe (No Cats) and Dynomax Bullets dumped behind my 408. Basically it sound's wicked... I've tried tone's of different Exhaust combo's and have finnaly decided on the Bullets Set Up... They finnaly gave me the sound I was looking for when combined with the X Pipe. Yes the Bullet's are loud and atract a lot of attention especially when dumped, but they simply put sound awesome at all RPM's.
For Sound clip's on Bullet's go to www.xtrememustangs.com click on video's and there is 4 video's of some sweet Stang's with Bullet's listed. Check Em' Out!
