im hearing this ticking sound from my header on the drivers side. it sounds like its from the headers but it doesnt tick faster when i rev up i was thinking maybe the valve cover gasket needs to be replaced or my head gasket but how would i know if i need a new head gasket? one morw thing is could it be a valve sticking or something how can i find out if thats the case? anyone heard of this problem before??

I have clicking from the drivers side header area as well. I though maybe my rockers were slapping and needed adjusting, but it didn't help. Mine gets louder as I increase RPMs. From what I've heard this is possibly a leak at the header collector, not at the head. If it is a blown head gasket you might have water in your oil. or you will run hot. How is she running? Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I get a ticking too. I thought is was the hedder and valves. Turn out it's the clutch cable. If I put my foot on the peddle, without pushing down the noise goes away. Hope that's all you guys have. Good Luck

ill have to take a closer look and try that peddle trick. my car does seem to run a little hot but again its sacramento california and the temps at 100+ but my temp gauge never goes over the half point it always stays at half.

ill throw one in from left field. with as often as plugs fire, it can be hard to hear if the frequency has increased. if the boot has come slightly off the plug, it will tick (and likely still fire). dont ask how i know.

i would also highly recommend a real temp gauge. i live a quarter mile from the sun and my stock gauge never moved over half. come to find that it stays at half even when i was running quite hot (it never moved, while the other gauge went from 170 to 210 - real important temp delta to know about).

good luck.
