Live to see another day, thank you Lord

Before I start I want to thank the Lord for being alive. Here's the story, yesterday I was heading up to a buddies house which is around a 20 plus miles away from where I live. When I got there I smelled gas, I got out of the car and noticed that the drive side exhaust pipes was drenched with gas then I saw the fuel filter hose was sitting on the exhaust pipe and melted the hose and its was leaking like a faucet at this point I couldn't believe that nothing bad happened. I went to home depot and pick up a coupler and fixed it temporarily, I'm not driving the car now. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket hose that I can use like stainless steel hose or stock hose is my only option? Any advice is appreciate.

Jeg's carries both Russell and Aeroquip stainless steel hoses and a selection of fittings/tools that should let you make up any kind of stainless hose set up you desire. Just go to www.jegs.com and search under those brands. It won't be cheap - but done correctly you shouldn't have to worry about buring the car to the ground again, at least because of the fuel line.

Thats a horrible feeling just waiting for something to ignite isnt it. I swapped fuel pumps and forgot the o-ring on top of the tank, went to the gas station and filled it up not knowing and after it was full about a gallon ran over onto the ground by my exhaust. Now the fun part is dropping a full tank of gas i just filled to put in the o-ring.

I'm glad that nothing ignited and anything dealing with gas is never fun. I called Ford to see if I can get the hose from them and the parts guys tells me that I have to come in to look at pictures because he could not find the hose and that some hose's are obsolete

That is what I would do...I would go to your Ford Dealership and get an OEM hose...

So the reason why it got gasoline everywhere is because the line was against the exhaust...

Ford charges $107.00 for the lines. I guess there a two line together and thats how they are sold.
