sceptical about 4.10

First of all what do you want to do save money or go fast. If you worried about gas mileage do not get an 8cyl. Not trying to bust your ba*** but gas is gas and with 4:10's its not that much of a difference unless you romp her non stop. You will always spend money on gas with a mustang no matter what. Buy a second vehicle it will actually save money in the long run.

Not all of us have tons of money to just throw around. Sorry I actually care about what and how much of my money I'm putting into what. Last time I checked this was the proper board and thread to put that question in so WTF are u getting all butt hurt? Why even bother making a comment like that in the first place it servers no purpose and is just negative.

dude, it's not even noticeable.

I just put 3.73's on my 98 5 speed a couple of weeks ago. Love them, have driven 98 with 4.10's didnt like. Did like a 2000 gt i drove with 4.10's. different motors perfer different gear. It feels like the 96-98 motor is straining too much with the 4.10 gear.

I agree with Squares on this one.....

I personally have the 4.10s for my car 2002 GT (not installed yet), and I think they are the right choice...However, I believe the 98 GT's have different transmission gears, and a 3.73 might be better for those years. I noticed it seems like everyine in this thread telling him to get 4.10's has a newer model GT, except for Squares.....I thin kit would be more helpful for him to get responses from owners of his years GT. Just trying to help....

4.10's..................get them. You will be sorry if you go less. It's puts you in the power band better when shifting plus there's no downshifting on the highway anymore if you have to get around someone fast. City driving is fine and highway driving is fine too. I lose MAYBE 2mpg but that's probably only because I get on it a lot more now. Can't help it. The car just pulls so hard now. FWIW I have an 01 GT 5spd.
