I went to the 1/8th mile track tonight, I am happy, but know it could be better. I ran 8.5's at 85.11mph, my old times were 8.4's at 82mph. Kind of odd because all I did was drivetrain and suspension mods. It's like a different car now. Even though the ET wasn't as good I am happy. I think with some practice and a little tuning I can get a few 10ths dropped off. I have a few problems

If I launch it over 1800 I get a lot of wheel hop, so my best 60ft was 1.9's. Maby I should try to put the quads back in? When it does hook it bogs pretty bad. The front end rises, then drops, then back up again when the powerband comes in.

Now it's running out of 3rd gear. I treid hitting 4th but didn't seem to help any. I am planning on a taller tire, but don't want to loose any gear.

Spec III cluch grabs sooo hard, it's really difficult to controll because it has little friction, when it touches it grabs. I would hate to buy another clutch so should I just practice?

I'd say practice and/or get some sticky tires. 85 is a pretty nice trap speed so you definately have some power that needs extra traction.

I am thinking that might have some play in the issue. Nittos are great on the street but with this clutch an all the tires get hit way too hard, it just kills them. Having a 40 series sidewall doesn't help. Maby even a Nitto with a 60 series sidewall would help absorb that shock and turn it to the pavment instead of bouncing it back into the drivetrain.

Thats what my car will do launching on motor, itll hit the dr's lift a wheel then the nose drops a lil bit and it unloads the suspension. I dont think im making enough power n/a to keep the weight on the back tires with my aggresive suspension. If i spray it will just sit back and fly, i pulled the wheels going into 2nd gear because the added power kept the weight on the back tires letting the susp do its job.
Im guessing you set your control arms on the lowest setting? I need to get my pinion angle set, i never had it done and with 28's i think mine is off.

Pinion angle... I forgot about that, I have double adjustable uppers but have not set the pinion angle at all although everything else has changed.

I guess now that I have a good setup I need to tune it and work out the bugs. I know my car has more 8.5 potential.
